Position Overview
The Remote Data Entry Clerk plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of company data. Working fully remotely, this individual is responsible for the timely and precise entry, management, and verification of data across multiple platforms and systems. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of handling large volumes of information with speed and accuracy while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter large volumes of data into databases, spreadsheets, CRM systems, and internal platforms on a daily basis
- Review incoming data from multiple sources (forms, emails, documents, reports) and ensure completeness before processing
- Verify and cross-check entered data against source documents to identify and resolve discrepancies, duplicates, or missing information
- Update and maintain existing records to ensure all information is current, consistent, and properly formatted
- Perform regular data audits and quality control checks to uphold data integrity standards
- Organize, label, and archive digital files and documents in a structured and retrievable manner
- Generate and distribute routine data reports, summaries, and logs as requested by supervisors or department heads
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments via email, chat, and video conferencing to clarify data requirements or discrepancies
- Follow established data entry protocols, standard operating procedures, and company guidelines at all times
- Flag unusual patterns, errors, or potential data breaches to the appropriate personnel promptly
- Support other administrative or clerical functions as assigned, including document preparation, scheduling support, and correspondence
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field is a plus
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in data entry, administrative support, or a related clerical role
- Typing speed of at least 50–60 words per minute with a high accuracy rate
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive)
- Experience with database management tools, ERP systems, or CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, QuickBooks) is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect errors in large datasets
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote team collaboration
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting strict deadlines
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive, confidential, or proprietary information
