VetsEZ is currently looking for a Data Validation Team Lead (Data Analyst / Quality Analyst – Lead) for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal healthcare initiative with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of enterprise data as it is integrated from Oracle Health into VA systems.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in SQL and data analysis, combined with hands-on leadership experience and a proven ability to drive data quality, validation, and reconciliation efforts in complex, high-impact environments.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Validation Team supporting Data Syndication activities, including task prioritization, workload distribution, and quality oversight.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for validation efforts across data integration, mapping, and ingestion workflows.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to data analysts and quality analysts.
- Coordinate validation activities across data engineering, integration, and architecture teams.
- Oversee validation of data ingested from Oracle Health into VA environments, ensuring alignment with source systems and enterprise standards.
- Ensure validation processes meet defined accuracy thresholds (typically ≥98%) and escalate discrepancies as needed.
- Lead reconciliation efforts, including source-to-target comparisons, anomaly detection, and defect resolution.
- Validate ETL/ELT outputs, execution logs, and ingestion results to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Support validation across enterprise data integration and syndication workflows, including ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to verify data integrity and resolve discrepancies across systems.
- Ensure validation outputs align with enterprise data models and mapped structures.
- Produce and oversee validation reports for weekly and monthly program reporting.
- Track data quality metrics, validation outcomes, and trends, providing visibility to leadership.
- Maintain validation logs and supporting documentation.
- Refine and standardize validation methodologies, processes, and documentation.
- Ensure alignment with VA data governance, security, and compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve validation efficiency, automation, and accuracy.
- Partner with VA stakeholders, clinical SMEs, and technical teams to resolve data issues and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Support validation of data mapping and transformation logic.
- Contribute to data dictionaries, validation documentation, and data lineage artifacts.
- Contribute to team objectives and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data analysis, data quality, or validation in data-intensive environments.
- 2+ years of experience leading or coordinating technical or data-focused teams.
- Strong SQL expertise and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, InterSystems IRIS).
- Experience validating ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale data integration systems.
- Proven experience with data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance in healthcare or enterprise environments.
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-stakeholder, Agile, and data-driven environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience supporting VA programs, EHR modernization, or healthcare data platforms.
- Familiarity with Data Syndication environments, VX130, IRIS, or hybrid cloud/on-prem architectures.
- Experience with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, LOINC, or SNOMED CT.
- Experience validating enterprise data models and mapping logic.
- Exposure to data governance frameworks and data quality tools.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.
- SAFe, Agile, or data-related certifications are a plus.
