We are looking for a highly motivated Data Science + AI Intern to support BillionToOne’s efforts in scaling and automating critical data processes using AI. This internship is ideal for someone with a background in Data Science/Data Engineering/AI and an interest in applying AI-driven solutions to optimize sales operations, laboratory operations, customer support, and billing systems.Be part of a high-performing team on the cutting edge of prenatal and oncology diagnostics, working in a dynamic startup culture within a public company that is committed to changing the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients.
Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholder teams to develop and implement AI-driven automation solutions for scaling sales operations, lab operations, customer support, and billing processes.
- Assist in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines to support analytics and machine learning initiatives.
- Optimize data workflows by integrating AI models to improve efficiency and decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and business teams, to understand requirements and propose data-driven solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry best practices.
- Document technical processes and provide insights based on analysis and implementation.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field. College graduates are not eligible.
- Experience with Cursor, Claude Code, or other AI enabled IDEs is plus.
- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL pipelines, database management, and cloud computing (e.g. Stitch, dbt).
- Experience with SQL, Python, and big data technologies
- Experience validating non-deterministic AI automation solutions
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) is a plus.
- Experience with data visualization (Tableau) is a plus.
- Experience working with AWS cloud platform and data pipeline tools is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
