The U.S Operations Data Office is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, technically proficient individual with a proven background in data analysis, modeling, and data management practices to fill the position of Data Steward (Director I Level) representing the Personal Lines Product, Pricing and Underwriting data domain. This role is primarily responsible for leading data transformation efforts to simplify and accelerate how we go to market, powered by a modern, future-ready unified insurance platform. The role will coordinate priorities and assess broad impacts across multiple stakeholder teams within the Data Office and the broader U.S. business organization as we continue to modernize our analytics and reporting environments.
Candidates who live within 50 miles of Boston, MA; Portsmouth, NH; Seattle, WA; Columbus, OH; or Plano, TX will follow a hybrid schedule, coming into the office two days per week. Otherwise, this role is remote with occasional travel.
Responsibilities:
• Refine, implement, and maintain a comprehensive data roadmap for current and future initiatives to support the development of a unified insurance platform and value touchpoints that enable multiple areas of the business, ensuring alignment with overall U.S Operations strategy
• Translate this high-level plan into actionable epics in partnership with product owners as near-term plans are elaborated
• Provide technical and business-centric guidance for the modernization of Product, Pricing, and UW systems onto our new tech stack by influencing and collaborating with teams along the data value chain
• Classify and protect data according to established regulatory/compliance guidelines through process development and adherence
• Work with technical teams to define and govern data policy and methodologies
• Engage and coordinate with stakeholders to assess needs that promote efficient, durable and cost-effective solutions and advise Agile development squads to realize those solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred
• Strategic mindset, naturally inquisitive and can operate under broad managerial guidance
• Excellent communicator and collaborator
• Familiarity with Agile practices
• 5+ years technical expertise with aptitude to understand Kafka streaming data ingestion, data vault (or other sophisticated data modeling concepts), high volume data warehousing
• 7+ years expertise in Insurance manipulating and querying data and comprehension of complex data models
• Strong aptitude working with the quote/policy data lifecycle and financial premium and loss data preferred
• Experience with transformation to Guidewire PolicyCenter or another similar cloud-based technology

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
