The Company :
Our client is a leading cannabis investment firm based in Oakland, CA on the hunt for a high energy deal flow manager whose main responsibilities include recruiting, screening, and on-boarding the best companies raising capital in the cannabis sector to our clients pitching pipeline. Their flagship project is Investor Network where more than 625 high net-worth dues-paying investor members have invested more than $108 million into 141 cannabis-related ventures and put more than $3M towards the legalization effort. They also publish The State of Legal Marijuana Markets, the most oft-cited market data and analysis report on the industry. In addition, they co-founded Cannasure Insurance Services in 2011 and partnered with Canopy to launch a mentor-driven seed-stage business accelerator in 2014.
The Culture:
Despite the fast-paced nature of this role, the company culture is one that radically supports a good work/life balance and encourages no-work weekends (excluding special circumstances) and an open-ended vacation policy. You’ll work in a newly renovated sunny office with adjustable standing/sitting desks and a spectacular view of downtown Oakland. The BART stop is literally five steps from the front door of the impressive historic building. The seven-person eclectic, self-expressed, and fun close-knit Oakland team works with about four other regular contractors or employees remotely. The team values vulnerability, transparency, attention-to-detail, the kind but sometimes difficult truth, accountability, and commitment to results.
