About MotherDuck

Don’t let the quirky name fool you: At MotherDuck, we’re on a mission to make data warehousing fun, frictionless, and ducking awesome for developers and data practitioners building blazing fast internal and customer-facing analytics experiences. We're building a cloud-hosted version of DuckDB, working hand-in-hand with the creators of the fastest-growing and fastest-improving query engine on the planet. Unlike other databases, MotherDuck was architected to unify local development with cloud operations to bridge the gap between software and data engineering workflows. Our team is a mix of thoughtful, passionate, and empathetic data industry veterans.

What You Will Do

At MotherDuck, we believe demand generation is more than just capturing leads—it’s about creating thoughtful, engaging, and strategic marketing programs that build lasting relationships and drive pipeline growth. We’re looking for a Demand Generation Marketer to own and execute campaigns that attract, nurture, and convert prospects into lifelong customers.

This role can be based in our New York City, San Francisco, or Seattle hubs.

  • Develop and execute multi-channel demand generation programs that drive awareness, engagement, and conversion across digital, events, and content marketing.

  • Own and optimize paid and organic marketing channels (email, content syndication, search, social, partnerships, etc.) to fuel inbound pipeline growth.

  • Experiment with creative, unorthodox approaches and tools to demand gen—if there’s a standout way to drive impact, we want you to find it!

  • Partner closely with sales, product marketing, and developer relations to create compelling messaging and content that speaks to technical audiences.

  • Launch and refine account-based marketing (ABM) strategies to engage high-value accounts and drive meaningful conversations.

  • Analyze and report on campaign performance, ensuring we’re investing in high-impact initiatives and continuously optimizing based on data.

  • Manage and refine marketing automation workflows and lead nurturing strategies to improve conversion rates and sales handoff efficiency.

  • Own website conversion rate optimization, making sure our online presence drives meaningful engagement and pipeline growth.

What You Bring
  • Proven track record of running demand generation programs in a B2B SaaS environment, ideally targeting data or technical audiences.

  • A data-driven mindset with experience in marketing analytics, attribution models, and funnel optimization.

  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation tools (HubSpot, Marketo, etc.), CRM platforms, and paid media management.

  • A creative, unorthodox approach to demand generation—able to test and iterate on new ideas quickly.

  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, product marketing, and developer relations.

  • A “get it done” attitude with a love for fast-paced, scrappy environments.

  • A passion for engaging technical audiences in authentic, non-salesy ways.

What people should be saying if you’re doing ducking awesome
  • “I see MotherDuck everywhere—in the best way. Their content is engaging, their ads are smart, and their events are can’t-miss.”

  • “Those MotherDuckers managed to reach me in clever ways, exactly when I was interested in learning more about their product.”

  • “MotherDuck has some of the best marketing I’ve seen for a data company—clear messaging, strong branding, and actually helpful content.”

  • “The pipeline is consistently strong, and the quality of leads is top-notch.”

  • “I downloaded a whitepaper, and instead of spam, I got actual useful follow-ups that made me want to learn more.”

  • “Every campaign feels intentional, well-targeted, and relevant to what we care about.”

  • “Our ABM programs are landing meetings with the exact people we need to reach. Demand gen is firing on all cylinders!”

  • “The marketing team at MotherDuck isn’t just driving leads—they’re creating a movement in the data community.”

  • “My sales people just love working with the marketing team. They always think of new ideas together every time we get stuck, finding great MQLs and sales qualified accounts!”

What we provide

  • Legendary company events – we bring the whole flock together twice a year for unforgettable summits in fun locations, plus 1-2 team gatherings a year to keep our bonds strong.

  • Flexible work environment - spend most of the week in the office collaborating with the flock, and work from wherever you're most productive the rest of the time. Specifics are role dependent and as agreed upon with your manager.

Please Apply

Does this role sound appealing to you, but you’re missing some of the requirements or don’t quite think you’re qualified?  Please apply anyway.
