About this role

As a Deployment Strategist at LightSource, you will own the customer lifecycle from post-sale to renewal, fostering strong relationships with mid-management procurement professionals and influencing senior leaders like Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs) to accelerate LightSource adoption. Your customer portfolio would primarily include Enterprise customers.

You’ll join a dynamic and rapidly growing Customer Engagement team that is agile, entrepreneurial, and passionate about driving meaningful impact in procurement.

You’ll report directly to our Director of Deployment Strategy or Vice President of Customer Engagement based on your experience. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployments. Join us as we revolutionize how organizations harness AI to drive decision-making and innovation

Core responsibilities

Customer Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture relationships: Develop strong partnerships with category management teams, procurement leaders, and other cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, quality, finance, NPI) for customers where you are leading deployment of LightSource

  • Manage Enterprise customer deployment: Spearhead LightSource deployment at Enterprise customers and manage the customer on an ongoing basis.

  • Lead Mid-Market customer deployment: Manage deployment of LightSource at mid-market customers. Post implementation transition mid-market customer relationships to Customer Success Manager (CSM) for ongoing maintenance.

Solution Development and Collaboration

  • Understand customer needs: Learn procurement best practices and language to tailor solutions that exceed expectations.

  • Contribute to product management Manage feature requests and collaborate with LightSource’s engineering team to deliver customer-focused innovations.

Revenue Growth and Retention

  • Analyze and act: Gather intelligence on customer metrics (seats, spend, suppliers, etc.) and develop action plans to maintain customer health with a Gross Revenue Retention (GRR) target of 95%+.

  • Identify opportunities: Proactively uncover cross-sell and upsell potential to target Annual Net Revenue Retention (NRR) of 125%+.

Customer Success Operations

Take ownership of at least one initiative to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Customer Engagement function. Potential areas include:

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or analytical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Economics) or equivalent work experience.

  • 3-4+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, private equity value creation, or related fields.

  • Prior experience in Procurement or ability to navigate a steep learning curve on Procurement domain expertise

  • Strong Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets capabilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Advanced degrees

  • Prior procurement experience

  • Basic programming skills (SQL, Python, VBA for Excel)

  • Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.

  • Understanding of procurement tech stacks.
