Design and engineer the surgical UI for a robotic system, collaborating with clinicians and shipping production-ready interfaces using Figma and code.
The summary above was generated by AI

Remedy Robotics is a medical technology company developing robotic systems for endovascular intervention. Its proprietary technology combines robotics, machine learning, and advanced computer vision to help physicians perform highly precise endovascular procedures and expand access to life-saving stroke and cardiovascular care. Initially focused on neurovascular intervention, Remedy is addressing the limited availability of specialized treatment for time-critical cardiovascular emergencies, with the long-term goal of enabling expert intervention regardless of patient location. Headquartered in San Francisco, Remedy is backed by DCVC, Blackbird, and Tony Fadell's Build Collective, among others.

We are looking to hire a Design Engineer for our Software Team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the end-to-end design of the surgical UI, from early Figma exploration through to production code

  • Build and iterate on the real-time robot tablet interface used during surgical procedures

  • Develop and maintain a scalable design system across multiple product surfaces

  • Partner with clinicians to shape intuitive, high-precision interface workflows

  • Contribute to product-level visual and interaction design decisions across the software stack

  • Define UI verification and validation (V&V) tests in collaboration with the quality team

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong foundation in visual design principles, with the ability to justify decisions around layout, typography, color, and hierarchy

  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including auto layout, variables, components, and prototyping

  • Solid frontend development skills with the ability to implement designs in TypeScript, React, or equivalent frameworks

  • Proven ability to own work end-to-end, from early concepting through implementation and shipped product

  • Excellent communication skills, particularly when collaborating with non-technical stakeholders such as clinicians and surgeons

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience designing and shipping production-grade interfaces, ideally as a designer who codes or an engineer with strong design sensibilities

  • A portfolio of high-quality design work that demonstrates depth of thinking and is available for detailed walkthrough

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing dense, professional-grade, high-stakes interfaces (e.g., medical systems, scientific instruments, CAD tools, DAWs, trading platforms, or avionics)

  • Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Rive, Origami, Framer, or ProtoPie

  • Experience in motion design and UI animation for interactive products

  • Experience with real-time data visualization using WebGL, Canvas, or custom rendering pipelines

  • Exposure to 3D graphics or rendering frameworks such as Three.js or equivalent

  • Experience contributing to or maintaining scalable design systems

  • Prior experience in medical device environments, including exposure to verification & validation (V&V) processes and usability testing workflows
