Design Lead (Direct-to-Consumer Health Tech Platform)

About Us

C the Signs is dedicated to transforming the future of cancer care through our innovative AI-powered platform. We empower healthcare professionals and patients with the tools and information needed to effectively recognize cancer symptoms, ensuring timely treatment and improved outcomes. As we expand our impact into new markets, we are looking for a passionate Design Lead to join our talented team.

This Role

We’re looking for a Design Lead to take our product from zero to one, and beyond.

This role sits at the intersection of product, AI modeling, and care navigation. It requires not just exceptional design craft, but also deep empathy for users who may be facing uncertainty or receiving difficult health information.

You’ll lead design strategy and execution across our direct-to-consumer platform, ensuring every interaction is intuitive, supportive, and grounded in trust. This is a hands-on, high-impact role, and a rare opportunity to shape a category-defining health product at its earliest stages. You’ll be owning everything from core interaction patterns and emotional tone to developing a scalable design system.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the design vision for our consumer-facing platform across mobile and web
  • Design flows that reduce friction and build trust as users share sensitive information, learn their cancer risk, and navigate next steps in a moment of high anxiety and uncertainty
  • Translate complex risk assessment outputs and diagnostic pathways into clear, accessible user experiences
  • Partner closely with C-suite, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to deliver cohesive experiences that align with our business strategy
  • Conduct lightweight user research and testing to continuously validate and improve the experience
  • Establish and evolve design systems, principles, and best practices
  • Set the bar for design craft while balancing speed and quality in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Lay the groundwork for building and mentoring a design team over time

Requirements

Who You Are

  • 6-10+ years of experience in consumer product design
  • Strong hands on UI/UX design experience in the consumer facing product, preferrably in health tech vertical
  • Exceptional at simplifying complex concepts into intuitive, human-centered experiences
  • Deep empathy for users, skilled at designing for sensitive moments
  • Strong systems thinker with experience building and scaling design systems
  • Excellent collaborator and communicator across disciplines
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and making thoughtful tradeoffs quickly
  • Passionate about using design to drive meaningful impact in people’s lives

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with behavioral science or designing for behavior change
  • Experience working on 0-to-1 or early-stage products
  • Experience in healthcare, diagnostics, or other regulated industries

Benefits
  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
  • Work From Home
