About Air Space Intelligence

ASI's mission-critical technology powers decision-making across aviation, defense, energy, and other critical infrastructure domains. Backed by top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Spark Capital, and Renegade Partners, ASI delivers operational decision superiority—compressing days of analysis into seconds of action. ASI is leading the way and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

As a Design Technologist at Air Space Intelligence, you'll live at the intersection of design and engineering—translating high-fidelity design intent into production-quality interfaces that empower airlines, defense organizations, and government partners in complex airspace systems. You'll build the components, tooling, and prototypes that make mission-critical experiences feel seamless and perform under pressure.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Build and ship production-ready UI components from design specs, prioritizing performance, reusability, and scalability.

  • Develop and maintain our design system as living code—keeping design tokens, component libraries, and documentation in sync across web-based applications.

  • Prototype novel interactions and data visualizations to pressure-test new product proposals in real, interactive environments.

  • Bridge design and engineering by implementing high-fidelity features that preserve design intent in high-density data environments.

  • Build tooling and automation that accelerate the design-to-development workflow.

  • Iterate on implementations based on user feedback, operational requirements, and performance insights.

What we value:

  • Strong front-end engineering skills (e.g., TypeScript, React, modern CSS) paired with a designer's eye, demonstrated by a portfolio of shipped interfaces or interactive prototypes.

  • Experience building and maintaining design systems in code—design tokens, component libraries, and the tooling that keeps them consistent with their Figma (or similar) source of truth.

  • Fluency translating high-fidelity designs into pixel-accurate, performant implementations, especially for dense, operationally critical environments.

  • A strong sense of visual hierarchy, typography, and layout, with the engineering chops to realize it faithfully in the browser.

  • Comfort with data-rich web applications and rendering performance—canvas, SVG, WebGL, or mapping/geospatial libraries a plus.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, product managers, and end users, to align implementation with real-world operational needs.

  • Comfort working in iterative processes, incorporating feedback, research, and performance data to refine and evolve your work.

  • An eye for consistency and scalability, with a drive to maintain a unified design language—in code—across multiple products and use cases.

  • Understanding of responsive design and accessibility best practices, ensuring interfaces work across devices and for all users.

  • A passion for mission-driven work, especially in domains that require precision, clarity, and real-world impact.

How do we hire:

We look at the interview process not as a screening or test, but rather as an opportunity to simulate what it would look like working together. We build the interview process around you.

ASI works with export controlled technology and restricted U.S. Government data, including on contracts mandating U.S. immigration status and location restrictions for performing personnel. Employment offers are contingent on ability to timely obtain all required authorizations for contemplated job duties.
