About Featherless

Featherless.ai is building the world’s most reliable open-model inference platform — the infrastructure powering the next generation of AI creators, startups, and enterprises.

Backed by Airbus Ventures, 500 Global, Kickstart Ventures, HF0 Residency, Panache Ventures, and Oakseed Ventures, we’re a well-funded team of researchers and engineers on a mission to democratize AI through performance, reliability, and accessibility.

We deliver the best GPU utilization in AI infrastructure, supporting the full spectrum of open models and making advanced AI effortless for anyone to use. Our cloud provides instant access to 12,000+ open-source models and our latest research in efficient, reliable, and scalable model optimization.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Developer Relations Lead to champion the builders and startups defining the future of open AI.

You’ll grow and engage the Featherless ecosystem — from model creators to early-stage founders — helping them deploy, scale, and monetize their ideas on our platform. You’ll serve as both advocate and architect: creating demos, shaping integrations, organizing events, and amplifying the voices of our developer community.

This role blends technical fluency, storytelling, and real-world community presence. You’ll represent Featherless in San Francisco and online — connecting with AI builders, creators, and founders who share our belief in open, accessible intelligence.

What You’ll Do

  • Empower developers: Help model creators and AI startups deploy and scale their projects on Featherless

  • Grow the ecosystem: Expand our West Coast network of builders, researchers, and early-stage founders

  • Build and share: Create examples, demos, and case studies showcasing real model deployments

  • Host and speak: Represent Featherless at hackathons, community events, and developer showcases

  • Create technical content: Write posts, tutorials, and updates that highlight what’s possible with open models

  • Collect feedback: Act as the voice of the developer community — surfacing insights that shape our roadmap

What You Bring

  • 3–6 years of experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, or Applied Engineering

  • Strong grasp of AI, LLMs, and open-source model ecosystems (e.g. Hugging Face, RWKV, Ollama, PyTorch)

  • Proven track record of building or contributing to AI developer communities or startup ecosystems

  • Established network of builders and founders in the Bay Area AI scene

  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills

  • Capable of building small prototypes, demos, or integrations (Python or JavaScript preferred)

  • Entrepreneurial mindset — you operate independently, move fast, and get things done

Why Featherless

  • Be the face of truly open AI development in San Francisco

  • Work directly with founders and research engineers on cutting-edge infrastructure

  • Help thousands of creators and startups bring new AI products to life

  • Shape the open-model ecosystem from the ground up — and make AI accessible for everyone

Compensation: $160-250K (Bay Area)
