Authentic is an award-winning digital agency specializing in fundraising, advertising, creative and web strategy, online organizing, and more. We’re known for building innovative, people-powered digital programs that help elect Democrats and advance progressive causes. 

We are looking for a Digital Strategist, Paid Media to join our team for limited term ending November 13, 2026. Digital Strategists are expected to run point on leading a book of select clients, working independently to meet client needs with some assistance from management– to run digital programs that meet our award-winning standard.

This position pays a fixed starting salary of $65,000 annually, per our company’s transparent employee compensation policy. Benefits include 100% employer covered health insurance, 401K with employer contribution, flexible vacation and sick leave, and more.

This is a union position represented by the Campaign Workers Guild.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the paid media client lead owning the growth of their digital fundraising program through many paid media channels: Meta, Search, P2P Texting, List Growth, and more
  • Develop, set, and execute all aspects of client’s digital paid media fundraising strategy to meet client goals including media planning, projections, and content development
  • Work with internal paid media ad ops teams to execute and optimize all aspects of client’s paid media program
  • Brainstorm and develop creative ideas for our clients, write, fact-check, and proofread content
  • Ensure all content is rooted in the authentic and honest voice of the client, and that each program is unique, relevant, and timely
  • Respond to topics in real-time by assisting in drafting ads and texts in response to news stories that are breaking fast
  • Lead on relevant client communications
  • Contribute to a collaborative culture that helps improve our work product
  • Work with designers, email strategists, and vendor partners to meet your client's needs as necessary
  • Be on top of digital trends and new tools, so we can make cutting-edge recommendations to our clients based on best practices
  • Tailor paid media fundraising strategies to the unique needs of each client and circumstance. Think outside the box and look for opportunities to innovate
  • Use, evaluate, and provide feedback on new digital tools and emerging technologies being tested by Authentic to improve programs and workflows as necessary
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the issues and a passion for electing Democratic candidates and advancing the progressive movement
  • Transferable experience from a previous role or a short period in a similar position
  • Experience working in advertising platforms like Facebook and Google Ads and CRMs like NGP and ActionKit
  • Demonstrated experience of creating and setting strategy for a client
  • Proven effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, work well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in stakeholder or client management, copywriting, and digital ad campaigns
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel
  • Able to work extended hours when needed/for rapid response moments
  • Eager to learn and self-educate

  • Work environment: This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
  • Physical Demands: This is a largely sedentary role. The ability to look at screens for extended periods of time is required.
