Citrix Solutions Architect (Consultant)

Rate: Up to $95/hr + benefits (W2)
Location: Remote (Must be located in CA)
Contract Details: 6-month contract with potential for extension

The Citrix Solutions Architect serves as a subject matter expert in Citrix technologies, delivering high-quality consulting, architecture, and implementation services to clients. This role partners with internal teams and client stakeholders to design, optimize, and support Citrix-based digital workspace environments. The consultant will lead technical engagements, provide strategic guidance, and ensure successful delivery of Citrix solutions aligned to client business objectives. 

The ideal candidate combines deep Citrix expertise with strong consulting skills, the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, and experience working across enterprise environments.

Responsibilities:

Client Delivery

  • Perform assessments, architecture design, and implementation of Citrix solutions (CVAD, DaaS, NetScaler, etc.)
  • Lead client-facing engagements including workshops, discovery sessions, and technical deep dives
  • Design and optimize Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and application delivery solutions
  • Provide guidance on Citrix Cloud and hybrid/on-prem architectures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance, scalability, and user experience issues
  • Lead or support migrations (e.g., on-prem to Citrix Cloud, legacy upgrades)
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to align solutions with business and technical requirements
  • Produce and deliver high-quality documentation including design documents and runbooks
  • Assist in developing Statements of Work (SOWs) and participate in solution scoping
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts to engineers, managers, and executive audiences

Internal Contributions

  • Support presales activities including solution design, estimates, and proposal contributions
  • Develop reusable assets such as reference architectures, templates, and best practices
  • Collaborate with sales teams to identify and pursue new opportunities
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, training sessions, and technical leadership initiatives

Qualifications

  • Must be located in California. 
  • Willing to travel to support clients located in California if needed. (0-1% Travel)
  • 7–10+ years of experience with Citrix technologies and enterprise infrastructure
  • Strong experience designing and implementing Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)
  • Experience with Citrix Cloud (DaaS) and hybrid architectures
  • Experience with NetScaler (ADC) for load balancing and secure access
  • Knowledge of supporting infrastructure including Active Directory, networking, storage, and virtualization platforms
  • Experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), especially for VDI workloads
  • Experience supporting large-scale environments (1,000+ users preferred)
  • Strong consulting experience including client interaction, requirements gathering, and solution design
  • Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell preferred)

Recommended Certifications (any of the following)

  • Citrix Certified Expert – Virtualization (CCA-V) or higher
  • Citrix Certified Associate – Networking (CCA-N) or higher
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
