The Director, Author Expertise & Success is responsible for deepening the engagement of our global author community while elevating the visibility and influence of their expertise across the business and in the market. This leader develops the strategy that strengthens authors' connection to Pluralsight, amplifies their voices with customers and prospects, and ensures author insights help inform future learning experiences.

In this role you'll lead author communications, engagement programs, and community events, manage our most distinguished Authors (Author Fellows) and partner across Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Learning Experiences to make author expertise a defining advantage for Pluralsight.

Who you’re committed to being:
  • You enjoy learning and are open to new ways of doing things.
  • You are not afraid to be yourself, experiment, make mistakes and learn from them, ask questions, or voice your concerns.
  • When communicating you are self-aware, insightful, and proactive.
  • You believe in continuous improvement and request frequent feedback from others.
What you’ll do:
  • Develop and execute Pluralsight's Author Success & Engagement strategy, defining and delivering a compelling Author Value Proposition that attracts, engages, develops, and retains a world-class global community of technology experts.
  • Elevate the expertise of Pluralsight authors by creating scalable opportunities that position them as trusted voices with customers, prospects, and the broader technology community. Lead and evolve the Author Fellows program, developing Pluralsight's most distinguished technology experts into strategic advisors, customer-facing evangelists, and influential industry voices while aligning their work with business priorities, learning experiences, and market impact.
  • Build meaningful author engagement at scale by creating programs, communities, recognition initiatives, feedback mechanisms, and events that foster belonging, deepen relationships with Pluralsight, and ensure author insights influence learning strategy and experiences.
  • Lead the strategy for author communications and experiences, delivering clear, transparent, and engaging communications that strengthen trust, reinforce connection, and create a consistent, high-quality experience throughout the author lifecycle.
  • Partner cross-functionally to integrate author expertise into the business, enabling Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, and Executive Leadership to leverage author credibility in strategic customer engagements, executive conversations, thought leadership, and revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning senior communications and community managers, creative professionals, and distinguished Author Fellows, cultivating a high-performing team that combines operational excellence, creativity, and deep technical expertise to deliver measurable business impact.
Experience you’ll bring:
  • Strong strategic communication skills with the ability to shape compelling narratives, executive messaging, and thought leadership.
  • Experience partnering across Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Executive Leadership to deliver cross-functional initiatives.
  • A strategic mindset balanced with operational excellence—you can define vision while ensuring flawless execution.
  • Strong understanding of technology and emerging trends, particularly within AI, cloud, cybersecurity, software development, and enterprise technology.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of professional experience in communications, community management, public relations, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of management or leadership experience.
  • Experience operating in a product organization with a deep appreciation for the strategic role that content and human expertise play in creating customer value, competitive differentiation, and business growth.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior subject matter experts, thought leaders, or influential contributors whose impact extends beyond traditional management structures.
  • This is a remote role; however, applicants located within 45 miles of our Westlake/Dallas, TX office should expect to work on-site Tuesday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. This approach enables more effective collaboration, quicker decision-making, and a stronger culture, while still providing flexibility.

  • We foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, where everyone can contribute and thrive.
