Position Overview
The Director of Business Applications – Commerce Platform will lead the strategy, delivery, and optimization of enterprise commerce technologies, with a primary focus on Salesforce Commerce Cloud. This role will drive digital transformation across the eCommerce landscape, enabling seamless customer experiences, scalable architecture, and integrated operations across Sales, Service, Revenue, and Marketing Clouds.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute the roadmap for the Commerce platform, aligning with business goals, enterprise architecture, and transformation programs such as Far Side and Colibri Connect.
- Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, and IT stakeholders to deliver scalable, integrated commerce solutions that support B2B, B2C, and B2B2C models.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to unify learner and customer journeys across brands and channels.
- Own the delivery and enhancement of Salesforce Commerce Cloud, including storefront architecture, product catalog management, pricing, promotions, and checkout flows.
- Integrate Commerce Cloud with Revenue Cloud, LMS, and ERP systems to support end-to-end order lifecycle and financial reconciliation.
- Address challenges in multi-brand commerce operations, including identity resolution, duplicate records, and fragmented customer experiences.
- Collaborate with Salesforce architects to define the ideal state architecture across Sales, Service, Revenue, Marketing, and Commerce Clouds.
- Ensure seamless data flow between Commerce Cloud and peripheral systems using middleware platforms.
- Drive adoption of Salesforce Data Cloud for unified customer profiles and real-time personalization.
- Lead DevOps strategy for Commerce Cloud, including CI/CD pipeline design, environment synchronization, and rollback strategies.
- Evaluate and implement DevOps tools with a focus on Commerce Cloud compatibility.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of solution architects, developers, and analysts focused on commerce technologies.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the business applications team.
- Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations, security best practices, and internal controls across commerce operations.
- Implement scalable access control models and performance optimization strategies for high-volume commerce environments.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise business applications, with at least 5 years in commerce platform leadership.
- Proven expertise in Salesforce Commerce Cloud, with exposure to Sales, Service, Revenue, and Marketing Clouds.
- Strong understanding of eCommerce operations, product data management, and customer lifecycle strategies.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale transformation programs.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills.
