Responsibilities

How you will contribute:

  • Proactively prospect, develop, and close software business within targeted client accounts.
  • Create and execute strategic software sales plans, setting clear goals and growth strategies for named accounts.
  • Support the development of software sales strategies for regional business development teams outside of core strategic accounts.
  • Collaborate with commercial team members to prepare and implement account plans and pursue software sales opportunities.
  • Identify customer needs, align Cytel’s capabilities with those needs, and position Cytel as the preferred partner for software solutions.
  • Lead the development of RFP/RFI responses, capabilities presentations, bid defenses, work order preparations, and amendments — working closely with Project Management, Business Operations, and Business Unit Heads.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal Cytel teams.
  • Engage with client stakeholders at all levels, staying current on industry trends and Cytel’s offerings.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the software business NBA forecast, collaborating with VPs of Business Development and Software Business Leaders.
  • Represent Cytel at relevant industry conferences and events.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • University degree required, advanced degrees preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in the CRO experience selling to biopharmaceutical clients.
  • Strong hunter mentality with the ability to proactively source, engage, and close top talent 
  • Leverages an established network and builds new relationships to drive pipeline development 
  • Comfortable working PST hours and supporting West Coast-based teams 
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders 
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding hiring targets
  • Demonstrated success in software sales, with a strong background in selling within the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry.
  • Strategic planning and execution experience within complex, global organizations.
  • Expertise in managing the end-to-end sales cycle — from lead generation through to deal closure — collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams, including commercial, operational, and leadership groups.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A history of achieving and surpassing sales quotas, specifically within the software model, by securing net new business and maintaining a robust sales pipeline.
  • Proven experience of carrying a quota selling services or technology, ideally within the Healthcare and Life Science’s industry
  • Successful history of net new business sales, with the ability to drive consistent delivery against revenue targets
  • Experience managing the sales cycle from lead generation thru deal closure collaborating with varied levels of our clients from business champions up to the C Suite.
  • Experience managing and closing complex sales cycles and demonstrated ownership of all aspects of territory management
