About Morty

Morty is building the operating system for modern mortgage businesses.

Founded by product- and engineering-driven leaders, Morty transforms the complex infrastructure of mortgage into a scalable, technology-powered platform. Leveraging the technology, workflows, and systems we built as a digitally native mortgage brokerage, we enable loan officers and brokerages to launch, operate, and grow under their own brand — without the traditional overhead, friction, or cost.

We sit at the intersection of fintech, SaaS, and real-world financial transactions, redefining how mortgage businesses are built and scaled.

The Role

Morty is seeking a high-impact Director of Business Operations to own and evolve the operational systems that power our platform.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a strategic operator who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and is energized by building structure at scale. You will partner closely with executive leadership, drive mission-critical initiatives, and shape the operational foundation that enables Morty’s growth.

While the title reflects the strategic scope of the role, this position is deeply execution-oriented and highly involved in day-to-day operational problem solving and systems building.

This role is ideal for a builder and operator — someone equally comfortable with high-level thinking and rolling up their sleeves to drive outcomes.

What You’ll Own

• Own and continuously improve Morty’s core operational workflows and systems
 • Diagnose operational bottlenecks and design scalable solutions
 • Lead high-priority cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution
 • Partner with executive leadership to translate strategy into operational reality
 • Build structure, processes, and internal infrastructure to support scale
 • Develop metrics, tracking systems, and decision-support frameworks
 • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, speed, and customer experience
 • Serve as a central point of ownership for mission-critical operational priorities
 • Operate comfortably across both strategic and deeply tactical work

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in business operations, consulting, banking, fintech, or high-growth startup environments
 • A true operator with strong systems and process design instincts
 • Highly analytical with exceptional independent problem-solving ability
 • Exceptional ownership mentality with a strong bias toward action
 • Comfortable operating with urgency and decisiveness
 • Thrive in high-tempo, high-performance environments
 • Strong prioritization judgment and business intuition
 • Structured thinker who brings clarity to ambiguous situations
 • Comfortable moving between strategic thinking and hands-on execution
 • Naturally proactive, resourceful, and execution-driven
 • Calm, decisive, and solutions-oriented under pressure
 • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 • Highly organized, adaptable, and resilient

You’ll Likely Thrive Here If You

• Enjoy operating at a high velocity
 • Prefer dynamic, fast-moving environments
 • Take pride in responsiveness, speed, and follow-through
 • Are energized by solving complex operational problems
 • Have a low-ego, no-task-too-small mindset
 • Like building structure rather than maintaining the status quo

Growth & Trajectory

This role is designed for significant expansion in scope and responsibility.

As Morty scales, this individual will play a foundational role in shaping our operational infrastructure, with the opportunity to grow into broader operational leadership over time.

Salary Range

$140,000 – $160,000, depending on experience and location
