About Aurora Solar

Aurora is on a mission to create a future of solar for all. Our award-winning software puts the power of data and technology into the hands of every solar professional to make solar adoption simple and predictable. Our software has designed millions of solar projects so far, empowering solar companies to sell, design, and install residential and commercial solar arrays accurately, seamlessly, and at scale.

We’ve been named one of "The Best Remote Companies" by BuiltIn.com and have been recognized for the second time as a Certified Green Business (CGB) with the city of San Francisco. We’re in this together to support the world’s transition to solar.

About the Team

Business Systems sits within Finance and powers how Aurora goes to market, sells, bills, and recognizes revenue. The team covers RevOps systems, usage and billing, and marketing operations. Together they support everything from first lead to cash collected for both sales-led and self-serve customers. We partner closely with Accounts Receivable, FP&A, Deal Desk, Sales, Marketing, Data Analytics and Product teams to ensure our systems evolve alongside the ways Aurora sells and monetizes its offerings. We’re building a scalable, well-documented stack that can support new products, pricing models, and geographies as Aurora grows.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Director of Business Systems to lead the systems that power Aurora’s quote-to-cash, go-to-market, and finance operations. You’ll lead a small, experienced team and own how HubSpot, Salesforce, Continuous, Zuora, NetSuite, and the broader commercial technology stack work together to support our business.

In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll define the systems architecture and roadmap, partnering closely with leaders across Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Product to align on priorities. You’ll stay close to system configuration, bringing the technical depth to unblock your team and make informed trade-offs.

What you’ll own

  • Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Revenue Cloud/RCA)

  • Continuous

  • Zuora

  • NetSuite

  • Gainsight

  • HubSpot

  • Integrations and Snowflake data flows

  • Other RevOps tools

Your Impact

  • Automate quote-to-cash for sales-led and self-serve purchases across geographies, ensuring usage, billing, and renewals flow seamlessly through Salesforce, Continuous, Zuora, and NetSuite with clean data and no manual intervention.

  • Build a scalable systems architecture that supports new campaigns, products, pricing models, and geographies without custom workarounds.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to Finance and GTM leaders.

  • Develop a self-organizing team that leverages automation and AI to manage intake, backlog, and prioritization, while balancing urgent fixes with roadmap delivery.

  • Document and streamline our processes and systems architecture, identify gaps and edge cases, and use these insights to prioritize improvements that support scale.

  • Simplify the technology stack and reduce costs by consolidating platforms and retiring tools we’ve outgrown.

  • Own systems governance, vendor relationships, and the team’s budget, including SOX-ready controls and practical applications of AI.

What You Bring

  • 12+ years of experience in business systems, revenue operations systems, or finance systems, including 4+ years leading teams.

  • Deep, hands-on experience with Salesforce (CPQ or Revenue Cloud) and a subscription billing platform such as Zuora; along with working knowledge of NetSuite or a comparable ERP.

  • A strong understanding of quote-to-cash and order-to-revenue processes in a B2B SaaS business, including usage-based or hybrid pricing.

  • A track record of leading system and billing implementations, migrations, integrations, or re-architectures from requirements definition through rollout.

  • Experience managing change management and release processes, including environment management, testing, and disciplined deployment practices.

  • Experience establishing data governance and hygiene standards across CRM, billing, and ERP systems.

  • The ability to explain technical trade-offs to Finance and GTM executives in clear, accessible language.

  • Experience establishing intake, sprint, or backlog practices for a systems team.

  • Sound judgment on when to configure, customize, integrate, or adapt the underlying process.

  • Experience managing contractors, systems vendors, and implementation partners within budget, including statements of work (SOWs) and renewals.

  • Familiarity with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and SOX IT general controls as they apply to finance systems.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in solar, energy, or other hardware-adjacent SaaS markets.

  • Experience supporting self-serve or product-led purchasing alongside a sales-led motion.

  • Experience configuring systems for international expansion, including multi-currency, multi-entity, and regional tax requirements.

  • Experience with Salesforce Revenue Cloud (RCA), Continuous, or similar usage-metering tools.

  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and lead-to-opportunity processes.

  • Salesforce, Zuora, or NetSuite certifications.
