This is a fully remote role within the United States.
We are seeking a Director of Clinical Data Science to bridge the gap between clinical expertise and data-driven product innovation. This physician-leader will bring deep clinical knowledge, fluency in data science, and a creative, self-starting mindset to shape how we model, interpret, and leverage healthcare pricing and utilization data. You will partner closely with engineering, product, and commercial teams to ensure our platform reflects the realities of clinical practice and delivers meaningful value to providers, payers, and patients.
Lead clinical data science strategy, applying medical expertise to healthcare pricing, reimbursement, and utilization datasets
Advance the clinical infrastructure for a more open, efficient healthcare marketplace (see open.turquoise.health for more information)
Design and develop data models, algorithms, and analytical frameworks that translate clinical complexity into actionable product insights
Serve as the authoritative clinical voice externally and internally in cross-functional discussions with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams
Identify novel data science approaches to solve hard problems at the intersection of clinical care and healthcare finance
MD with 3–5+ years of clinical practice experience
Experience designing, building, or scaling applications powered by AI or LLMs that can be articulated and demonstrated in a case study
Fluent in data science tools and methods (we use Python and SQL primarily, but are open to other tooling as well); comfortable building and evaluating solutions hands-on
Mission-driven and deeply motivated to fix what’s broken in healthcare finance
Excellent verbal and written communicator who commands the respect of clinical and technical peers
