Job Overview

RSM is seeking a highly accomplished Director to lead Data and AI consulting engagements across our Integrated Cloud Consulting practice in North America. This is a client-facing, revenue-generating leadership role that blends enterprise data strategy, cloud architecture, and practice development — positioning RSM as the trusted Data & AI advisor for middle-market and public sector clients. The ideal candidate operates fluidly at the executive advisory layer and the solution architecture layer, bringing deep platform fluency across both meta-service providers and hyperscaler-native ecosystems.

Strategy & Advisory
  • Serve as the primary subject matter authority on enterprise data strategy — owning client engagements from initial vision through governance, AI readiness assessment, platform selection, and roadmap execution
  • Advise CIOs, CDOs, CTOs, and CFOs on data modernization, AI strategy, and cloud transformation
  • Develop differentiated point-of-view narratives that translate data and AI capabilities into tangible business value for middle-market buyers
  • Represent RSM at industry events, partner summits, and conferences; contribute thought leadership through whitepapers, webinars, and practitioner briefings
Go-to-Market & Presales
  • Lead technical presales activities including discovery workshops, solution design sessions, architecture presentations, and RFP/RFI responses
  • Collaborate with RSM account teams and industry leaders to identify, qualify, and progress pipeline; author Statements of Work, proposals, and scoping documentation
  • Co-develop the Data & AI service portfolio in close collaboration with RSM service and practice leaders
Practice Development
  • Define and build repeatable delivery assets including methodologies, playbooks, accelerators, and reference architectures
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of architects, engineers, and analysts across North America
  • Champion hyperscaler competency milestones and manage vendor partnership relationships across AWS, Azure, and GCP tiers
Independent Data Platforms (Cloud-Agnostic)
  • Snowflake — data cloud, governance, data sharing, and marketplace patterns
  • Databricks — Lakehouse design, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, ML/AI workflows
  • dbt, Informatica, and complementary transformation and orchestration tooling
Hyperscaler-Native Solutions
  • AWS — Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, SageMaker, Bedrock
  • Azure / Microsoft Fabric — Fabric, Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Azure OpenAI
  • GCP — BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataflow (familiarity considered an asset)
Experience & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data, analytics, or cloud technology consulting, with at least 3 years in a senior client-facing or practice leadership role
  • Demonstrated delivery experience across both independent data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks) and at least one hyperscaler-native stack, preferably AWS.
  • Proven presales track record — owning proposals, leading solution presentations, and closing consulting engagements
  • Strong enterprise architecture credentials: The Open Group TOGAF or Master Certified Architect designation strongly preferred
  • Experience engaging C-suite stakeholders as a technical advisor and strategic consultant
  • Familiarity with regulated or public sector verticals (financial services, manufacturing, energy, government) an asset
Preferred Certifications
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty, Solutions Architect Professional, or ML Specialty
  • Databricks Certified Associate or Professional Data Engineer
  • Microsoft Fabric / Azure Data certifications (DP-600, DP-203, or equivalent)
  • Snowflake certifications (SnowPro Core, Advanced Architect)
  • Familiarity with adjacent platforms including Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or dbt, supporting cross-practice collaboration.
  • Background in regulated industries such as financial services, manufacturing, technology or energy — primary middle-market verticals for RSM.
