Company Overview

Deepgram is the leading voice AI platform for developers building speech-to-text (STT), text-to-speech (TTS) and full speech-to-speech (STS) offerings. 200,000+ developers build with Deepgram’s voice-native foundational models – accessed through APIs or as self-managed software – due to our unmatched accuracy, latency and pricing. Customers include software companies building voice products, co-sell partners working with large enterprises, and enterprises solving internal voice AI use cases. The company ended 2024 cash-flow positive with 400+ enterprise customers, 3.3x annual usage growth across the past 4 years, over 50,000 years of audio processed and over 1 trillion words transcribed. There is no organization in the world that understands voice better than Deepgram

Deepgram is looking for a Director of Community Growth to support the strategy and development of Deepgram's brand in developer and user-facing communities. As a Director of Community Growth you will work with our DX (Developer Experience), Applied Engineering, Product and Marketing teams to build content that hits the right tone and distribute it where our technical audience spends their time. Your success will be measured on driving product signups that turn into deals as well as the engagement and growth of our hosted and third party communities.  If you would thrive in a role that is one part project manager, one part content creator and one part tactical executor, you’re our person.

What You’ll Do

  • Community Engagement: Foster user relationships within the Deepgram user community (Discord), monitoring engagement, encouraging conversation and developing processes for our internal team to better extract themes and feedback

  • Content Creation and Distribution: Develop and share a content calendar and strategy, then distribute the content to inspire play in community members, kicking off a UGC (user generated content) flywheel across hosted community as well as channels like Reddit, X and YouTube

  • Social Media: Own our company handles and create posts that stand on their own (zero click content) as well as developing content for key executives and Deepgrammers

  • Community Event Management: Organize and host (or sponsor) hackathons, livestreams, and meetups to strengthen community bonds and create goodwill and word of mouth for Deepgram

  • Feedback Management: Partner with DX to collect and relay community feedback to internal teams to inform product development and resonant messaging for marketing

  • Analytics and Reporting: Monitor community metrics as well as the success of events and other engagements and their influence on revenue

You’ll Love This Role If You

  • Are able to communicate and break down complex and difficult-to-measure goals into meaningful milestones

  • Are chronically online and love social listening, so keeping up on what’s trending is part of your daily routine

  • Love to pull data, analyze it, and make decisions to drive key success metrics (which you will help shape)

  • Like spending time collaborating with other teams and know how to make projects happen and motivate action outside your team

  • Love writing and get excited to help others develop their persona and create content that inspires others

  • Want to travel and be immersed in the developer community

  • Have ambitions to manage the complete developer campaign strategy in the future

It’s Important To Us That You Have

  • 5+ years of experience at a developer-facing company

  • A grasp on what’s trending in the places developers play

  • A keen eye for metrics and like to pull your own reports

  • Excellent writing skills that will help you capture the hearts and minds of a deeply technical audience

  • An understanding of how developers operate and what “smells like typical marketing”

It Would Be Great if You Had

  • Understanding of developer experience best practices

  • Experience balancing self-service and enterprise customer needs

  • A former life as an engineer or sales engineer

Travel expectation is up to 20% of your time.
