About Wolf Games

Wolf Games builds generative entertainment universes — living, evolving worlds where AI, creators, and players collaborate in real time. Our first universe, Public Eye, turns everyone into a detective. We’re now partnering with major entertainment brands to create bespoke games that extend their most beloved IP — experiences that live right where audiences already are.

After raising our Series A, Wolf Games is scaling the systems that make creative automation possible. We’re building the pipelines that turn imagination into playable, data-driven experiences. Our mission: to help storytellers reach their audiences faster by automating the path from idea to interactive world.

About the Role

Wolf Games is looking for a Director of Engineering, Creative Automation — a hands-on, people-centered technical leader who can guide a growing team through the next stage of scale. You’ll lead a talented group of 10 engineers across gameplay, full-stack, and infrastructure, helping them build the systems that power daily live games and dynamic storytelling experiences.

You’ll be responsible for the technical architecture, reliability, and performance of our Javascript-based web games and the hybrid Google Cloud + AWS infrastructure that supports them. This role requires both technical mastery and human leadership — the ability to mentor, align, and inspire engineers while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and grow a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of mentorship, clarity, and ownership.
  • Architect and evolve the infrastructure, systems and codebase that powers Wolf’s live, episodic games.
  • Define and implement best practices for web-based game architecture, build pipelines, and deployment standards.
  • Drive the development of internal automation tools and systems that accelerate content creation and game delivery.
  • Oversee hybrid cloud operations (Google Cloud + AWS), ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Champion observability, automated testing, and CI/CD systems to support daily content delivery.
  • Partner with AI and content systems teams to connect creative workflows with automation pipelines.
What You’ll Bring
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, ideally in games, creative technology, or live media.
  • Expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and React/Next.js.
  • Strong background in cloud-native architecture (GCP, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, observability).
  • Proven experience building and maintaining scalable delivery or automation systems.
  • Track record of leading small, high-impact teams through technical growth and change.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted tools and workflow automation.
  • Deep respect for engineering craft — thoughtful design, testing discipline, and reliable systems.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills; you build trust and clarity across disciplines.
Why You’ll Love Working Here

Wolf Games is a creative technology studio with the heart of a startup and the soul of a game company. We move fast, experiment constantly, and build tools that empower storytellers and players alike. You’ll join a small, ambitious team that values technical excellence, curiosity, and collaboration.

Here, engineering isn’t support work — it’s the foundation of how we tell stories. You’ll help design the systems that make imagination scalable, safe, and beautifully built.

We believe small wins lead to big worlds — and that AI and play are two sides of the same creative coin.
