The Director of Enterprise Solutions is responsible for the strategy, architecture, and governance of enterprise platforms across Magna Exteriors. This role ensures that application and platform capabilities are standardized, scalable, and aligned with Magna enterprise standards.
The Director owns the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise solutions—including SAP, MES, and core business applications—and is accountable for simplifying the technology landscape, reducing technical debt, and enabling integrated, data-driven operations.
This role works in close partnership with Regional IT leadership, who are responsible for execution and operations, to ensure successful deployment and sustained performance of enterprise platforms across divisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Enterprise Platform Strategy & Roadmap
• Define and maintain the enterprise application and platform strategy for Magna Exteriors
• Own the roadmap for key platforms, including:
-SAP ecosystem (implementations, upgrades, controls)
-MES strategy and standardization
-Core business applications and integrations
• Ensure alignment with Magna-wide initiatives, enterprise programs, and global standards (e.g., SAP enterprise programs, Ignite, Nexus, and DevOps practices)
• Establish clear platform lifecycle management and long-term roadmap governance
2. Application Standardization & Simplification
• Drive standardization of the application landscape across all divisions
• Eliminate non-standard, custom, or redundant solutions by enforcing the use of approved enterprise platforms and standards
• Reduce technology complexity and improve scalability through platform consolidation
• Lead structured reduction of technical debt, leveraging enterprise architecture tools and governance
• Enforce consistent application of enterprise standards across all divisions, with no deviation from approved platforms and architectures
3. Solution Design & Architecture Governance
• Own enterprise solution architecture standards, principles, and design authority
• Ensure all enterprise solutions are:
-Scalable and repeatable across divisions
-Secure and compliant with Magna standards
-Integrated across systems and business processes
• Govern system integrations, data flows, and interoperability across platforms
• Act as the design authority for enterprise solutions, with approval accountability for all major initiatives
4. Strategic Program Leadership (Platform Scope)
• Lead or govern enterprise solution components of key strategic initiatives, including:
-SAP implementations and divisional rollouts
-MES standardization and consolidation initiatives
-Connectivity and digital enablement programs
-Controls and compliance solutions (e.g., SOD controls)
• Ensure delivery of consistent, repeatable, and standards-aligned solutions across all programs
• Drive consistency in implementation approaches and solution architectures
5. Data, Integration & Digital Enablement
• Define the strategy for data integration across ERP, MES, and operational systems
• Enable standardized connectivity between systems, assets, and users
• Ensure solutions support business visibility, reporting, and decision-making needs
• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to enable scalable digital capabilities
6. Deployment Alignment & Adoption (with Regional IT)
• Partner with Regional IT Managers to ensure successful:
-Deployment of enterprise platforms
-Adoption of standard solutions and processes
-Post-go-live stabilization and performance
• Provide clear standards, templates, and guidance for divisional execution
• Ensure consistent implementation and adoption across all divisions
7. Governance, Compliance & Risk Alignment
• Ensure all enterprise platforms comply with:
- Magna IT, OT, and ITGC standards
-Security and audit requirements
• Embed governance and compliance into solution design and lifecycle
• Support audit readiness through standardized architectures and controls
8. Performance & Continuous Improvement
• Define and track metrics related to:
- Platform adoption
- Solution performance and stability
-Standardization and simplification progress
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in platform capabilities and delivery
• Drive ongoing optimization of enterprise solutions
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Experience
• 10+ years of IT leadership experience in a manufacturing or global enterprise environment
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise platform strategy (SAP, MES, or equivalent)
• Strong background in enterprise architecture, solution design, and system integration
• Proven experience delivering large-scale transformation programs
