You will partner closely with the CEO, senior executives, and leaders across Marketing, Product, Internal Communications, PR, Investor Relations, and Strategic Events. You will build systems that scale executive storytelling, strengthen internal clarity, and reinforce MongoDB’s leadership narrative in global markets.

What You’ll Do

1/ Executive Platform and Thought Leadership

  • Lead the executive communications program for the CEO and select senior leaders
  • Define strategic themes, audiences, and channels that shape executive visibility
  • Write speeches, talking points, op-eds, scripts, internal narratives, social content, and long-form messages that simplify complex ideas
  • Partner with Strategic Events on keynote development and flagship moments
  • Evaluate and recommend high-impact opportunities, including industry stages, media, analyst platforms, podcasts, and global forums
  • Maintain a consistent publishing and messaging rhythm that reinforces MongoDB’s voice across the AI, developer, and enterprise software ecosystems

2/ Narrative Development and Cross-Company Storytelling

  • Shape and evolve the MongoDB narrative so product, culture, and mission show up as one clear story
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing, PR, Brand, IR, and Internal Communications to align messaging across channels and audiences
  • Develop messaging frameworks, playbooks, and scalable storytelling systems used across functions
  • Translate innovation, customer success, and developer momentum into narratives that support broader company priorities

3/ Strategic Counsel and Leadership Advisory

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives on communications clarity, tone, and strategic positioning
  • Support communication needs for earnings cycles, major launches, organizational changes, internal all-hands, and company-wide moments
  • Move easily between strategic planning and detailed execution while keeping stakeholders aligned
  • Anticipate issues, shape response strategies, and support reputation and crisis communications in partnership with Legal, PR, and leadership
  • Lead complex cross-functional projects with clear plans, strong project management, and defined success metrics

4/ Team Leadership and Operational Excellence

  • Manage and develop a high-performing team; hire, coach, and retain talent
  • Translate strategic plans into operational processes, ensuring execution quality and clarity of ownership
  • Oversee or influence portions of the communications budget and agency partnerships
  • Guide reviewers, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners through clear processes and timelines
  • Regularly collaborate with cross-functional VPs and senior leaders, influencing decisions and aligning messaging in sensitive or high-stakes situations
  • Build productive relationships with agencies, vendors, executive producers, and external partners as needed

5/ Innovation, Impact, and Systems Building

  • Introduce new approaches, channels, and formats to elevate executive storytelling
  • Build repeatable systems and templates that scale communications across the company
  • Use data, insights, and qualitative feedback to measure message resonance and improve communication effectiveness
  • Lead forward-thinking initiatives that strengthen MongoDB’s reputation and internal clarity
  • Serve as a role model of MongoDB’s values and contribute to broader org-wide efforts such as training, knowledge sharing, and recruiting
Who You Are
  • 12–15 years of communications experience with significant time spent in executive communications, strategic storytelling, thought leadership, or corporate communications
  • Proven success supporting senior executives and influencing across complex, cross-functional environments
  • Recognized as a strategic thinker who can bring structure to ambiguity, solve multi-dimensional problems, and move fluidly between detail and strategy
  • Strong writer who can simplify technical topics such as AI, data platforms, enterprise software, or developer tools into compelling, accessible narratives
  • Experienced people manager who leads teams, coaches talent, manages through change, and sets clear priorities
  • Skilled at translating strategy into operational plans and driving execution with urgency and high quality
  • Comfortable managing agency partners, vendors, and budgets
  • Data-minded communicator who uses insights to shape decisions and evaluate program impact
  • Effective presenter and facilitator who can lead sensitive or politically complex conversations with executives
  • Collaborative, curious, and energized by helping leaders communicate with clarity, purpose, and influence on a global stage
