The Opportunity

We're looking for a Director of Growth & Subscriptions to own growth across the full Yahoo Finance product portfolio: Content, Data and Portfolios, AlphaSpace and Premium subscriptions, and for future Yahoo Finance product features and releases. This is a senior leadership role with two mandates: 1. Drive subscription growth for Yahoo Finance +, and 2. Drive adoption and usage across all Yahoo Finance products. You'll have a clear view of how our users discover, adopt, and engage with our products, and how we convert the most passionate ones into paying subscribers. You'll work closely with Marketing, Technology, Content & Editorial, and Business to make that happen.

The Details

Portfolio Growth & Engagement

  • Yahoo Finance: Drive usage, retention, and re-engagement across all Yahoo Finance product surfaces.

  • Portfolios and Watchlists: Grow adoption of features like Portfolios, Watchlists, analysis, stock quote pages and “Ask Scout” -  all experiences that deepen the Yahoo Finance relationship with our customers.

  • Content & Editorial: Partner with Content to grow high-engagement surfaces and ensure new editorial products reach and retain the right audiences.

  • New Product Launches: Own the growth playbook for every major product or feature we ship, from adoption targets to in-product onboarding and feedback loops.

Subscription Business Growth

  • In-product conversion: Build upgrade flows, manage paywall placement, and merchandising across Yahoo Finance product surfaces including AlphaSpace, our new tool for active investors.

  • Onboarding & activation: Demonstrate value to new subscribers fast through tool adoption, engagement habits, and early retention.

  • Subscriber retention: Own renewal optimization, churn-save mechanics, and re-engagement

  • In-product virality: Build referral loops and sharing mechanics that turn engaged subscribers into a growth channel.

  • Partner perks & benefits: Manage the Finance+ Premium Perks program across perk value, partner relationships, and subscriber-exclusive offers.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner closely with Marketing on go-to-market strategy for new products and Finance+, from launch positioning to campaigns and subscriber retention.

  • Collaborate with Technology and Engineering to ensure growth and engagement are built into the product from day one, not bolted on after launch.

  • Work with Content & Editorial to build high-engagement experiences and subscriber-exclusive programming

  • Partner with Business Development on perks, affiliate relationships, and partnerships that increase Finance+ value.

  • Bring a data-informed point of view to the GM and executive team on engagement trends, subscription performance, and trade-offs.

  • Build a culture of ownership, experimentation, and accountability across the teams you work with. Move fast, learn, and ship.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 10+ years in product management or growth, with meaningful time in consumer-facing, high-scale digital products.

  • Track record driving user engagement, adoption, and retention across a portfolio of products, not just a single funnel.

  • Experience operating a subscription or D2C business with revenue accountability across conversion, activation, and retention.

  • Strong command of in-product growth: onboarding flows, engagement loops, A/B experimentation, and paywall mechanics.

  • Enough product sense to work with engineering as a peer. You know what to ask for and what it costs.

  • Strong analytical instincts: comfortable building dashboards, reasoning from cohort data, and changing course when the data says to.

  • Proven cross-functional leader who can drive outcomes across teams you don't control.

Preferred

  • Experience in finance, investment products, personal finance or fintech with a genuine affinity for finance and investing.

  • Experience growing data-centered products like banking, stocks, and investing

  • Familiarity with low-cost, high-engagement B2C subscription economics.
