Operating across over 30 countries spanning 5 continents, we're hiring a Director, Head of Total Rewards who will report to the Chief People Officer and be part of the global HR leadership team.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a strategic, forward-thinking Director, Head of Total Rewards to lead the global design, development, and execution of our total rewards philosophy and programs. This leader will ensure our compensation, benefits, and equity strategies support our business goals, attract and retain top talent, and are competitive in all global markets.

This role will also be instrumental in shaping our reward culture, supporting business transformation, and advising senior leadership on all total rewards matters.

Key Responsibilities:

Total Rewards Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and implement a global Total Rewards philosophy and strategy aligned with company values, business goals, and talent needs.
  • Lead the global design, development, and execution of compensation, benefits, and equity programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance in all operating markets.
  • Build the roadmap for implementing the Total Rewards programs, working closely with the company’s and region's management and internal stakeholders such as finance, payroll, IT, legal, etc.
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic direction on emerging trends, tools, and best practices in total rewards and serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders and the Executive Team on compensation and rewards matters.

Compensation & Pay Equity

  • Oversee Global Career Architecture, global salary structures, and pay policies across all levels and geographies.
  • Lead the annual compensation review cycle end-to-end, including base salary , short-term incentives, and long-term incentive (LTI) planning, calculation, communication and payment.
  • Conduct global market benchmarking to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Drive global pay equity analyses and lead action planning to address disparities and maximize the effectiveness of reward plans.

Equity & Long-Term Incentives

  • Design and manage equity strategy and administration for executive and broad-based equity programs.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and external advisors on jurisdictions' equity design, tax, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and refine LTI plan effectiveness and alignment with shareholder and employee interests.

Benefits & Wellness

  • Lead global benefits strategy including health, retirement, wellbeing, and perquisites.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and ensure programs are cost-effective, compliant, and valued by employees.
  • Establish a holistic approach to employee wellbeing, integrating physical, emotional, and financial health

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all programs comply with global and local laws, regulations, and tax requirements.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Leadership and management capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and Legal teams.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders and the Executive Team on compensation and rewards matters.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience in total rewards or compensation & benefits roles, with at least 5 years in a global leadership position.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of global compensation, benefits, and equity practices and regulations.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale compensation and benefits strategies.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership, including Board/Compensation Committee interactions.
  • Leadership and management capabilities with experience building a total rewards team, a strong plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field with an MBA or Master's degree in a relevant field a plus.

Location: United States, East Coast based. (Greater NY or Greater Boston preferred; remote position)

Reports to: Chief People Officer

Internal Title: Director, Total Rewards, Human Resources

Expected Base Pay Range (USD): $175,000 to $210,000 per annum

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
