Job Description
 

Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide.  As a Director HIV Franchise Community Marketing, you will report to the Senior Director of Community and AHCP Marketing and will play a key role in developing the strategy and execution of marketing activities that engage community stakeholders to drive results across the HIV portfolio.  You will partner closely with the US Treatment and Prevention marketing teams and Public Affairs and Medical Teams to ensure alignment and coordination of community marketing strategies and tactics.  Primary responsibilities include:

    • Lead the community engagement tactical plan, aligning and coordinating across the treatment and prevention marketing teams, including key measurement activities to demonstrate impact; 

    • Oversee development of community resources and programs, including community activation strategies at Prides, Testing Events, Awareness Days, Welcome Back Days, and Community Conferences;

    • Lead the strategy and oversee execution of Community Conferences, which includes but is not limited to leading the cross-functional core team, working with internal operations and logistics teams, aligning on objectives and tactics with cross-functional partners, oversee the development of conference booths; and ensure customer engagement strategies are executed for relevant stakeholders and leadership;

    • Oversee the development and maintenance of community websites and content hubs;

    • Develop digital capabilities to support community engagement, partnering with relevant internal and external partners;

    • Partner closely with Public Affairs to develop and maintain relationships with critical community leaders;

    • Lead community market research and Advisory Board plan and implementation;

    • Lead marketing agency partners to deliver effective content and tools by leading content through internal review processes and ensuring material is ready on time;

    • Build and maintain a strong foundation of HIV market knowledge and product understanding.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years’ Experience or
Masters' Degree and Eight Years’ Experience or

PhD and Six  Years’ Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
    • 10+ years of experience.

    • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields is required, and an advanced degree such as an MBA is desirable.

    • Extensive knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical marketing with experience in HIV is preferred.

    • Experience in the HIV community preferred. 

    • Prior people management experience preferred.

    • Must possess excellent strategic thinking skills to formulate, develop, and execute strategy.

    • Organizational skill, including the ability to follow assignments through to completion (bias towards execution)

    • Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop, and implement multi-dimensional marketing and business plans.

    • Superior project management skills and effective management of multiple projects/priorities.

    • Proven track record as an effective leader, coach, and internal consultant with a demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and turn that analysis into strategic solutions.

    • Advanced management skills, including training, performance management, planning, prioritization, objective setting, recruitment and selection, meeting management, and plan execution.

    • Experience managing cross-functional teams or work groups as well as direct reports.

    • Excellent communication skills, highly competent presenter, able to gain credibility, engender trust and influence all levels, strong partnering skills, bias for action and tangible results.

    • Established interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict, and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines.

    • Poses a strong executive presence with the ability to command respect through sound business judgment and clear decision-making.

    • Ability to translate market research findings into actionable insights and tactical plans.

    • Must be able to successfully perform complex budget management with an understanding of revenue forecasting.

    • ·Successfully develop external relationships leading to brand advocacy.

The salary range for this position is: $226,185.00 - $292,710.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
