The Variel at Woodland Hills, a premier luxury senior living community opened in 2021, is seeking an experienced and service-driven Director of Hospitality to elevate the resident and guest experience across our vibrant Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care community.

Position Summary

The Director of Hospitality serves as the leader of the community's front-facing operations, overseeing the Front Desk, Concierge, Valet, and Security teams. This role is responsible for creating a culture of service excellence while ensuring residents, families, visitors, and team members receive a warm and professional experience from arrival to departure.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is highly visible throughout the community, excels at relationship building, and is passionate about creating memorable experiences.

What You'll DoLead Hospitality Operations
  • Oversee daily operations of the Concierge, Front Desk, Valet, and Security departments
  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently delivered
  • Develop and improve service protocols, workflows, and operational efficiencies
  • Maintain a polished, professional, and welcoming environment throughout the community
Elevate the Resident & Family Experience
  • Serve as a primary resource for resident, family, and guest concerns
  • Respond to and resolve concerns with professionalism, empathy, and urgency
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents and families
  • Promote a culture focused on hospitality, engagement, and service excellence
Develop and Inspire Teams
  • Recruit, train, coach, and mentor hospitality team members
  • Conduct performance evaluations and ongoing coaching
  • Foster accountability, teamwork, and professional growth
  • Lead regular service excellence and communication training
Drive Service Excellence
  • Establish and maintain luxury hospitality standards
  • Monitor resident satisfaction and implement improvements
  • Conduct quality assurance audits and service observations
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the overall resident experience
Administrative Leadership
  • Manage department staffing, scheduling, and budgets
  • Monitor performance metrics and operational goals
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards
  • Collaborate closely with Executive Leadership and department directors

Requirements


QualificationsRequired Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in hospitality, guest services, resident services, hotel operations, luxury residential communities, country clubs, resorts, senior living, or related service industries
  • Proven success leading customer-facing teams
  • Experience resolving escalated customer, guest, or resident concerns
  • Strong operational and team leadership skills
Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Luxury hotel, resort, senior living, or high-end residential experience
  • Experience managing multiple departments and service teams
