What does a Director, Integrated Planning do at Rainstorm Direct?

Strategic Media Leadership

  • Lead the development of converged TV media strategies that drive measurable business growth on our largest agency clients ($10-30M+)
  • Oversee integrated planning across linear TV, CTV, OLV/YouTube while also taking into consideration audio, print, OOH, social, and search as needed
  • Plan and manage primarily national campaigns, with an ability to plan local campaigns on an as need basis
  • Focus on brand and performance KPIs, including reach, frequency, efficiency, and business outcomes (ie. Response, Orders, Revenue, etc.)
  • Use proprietary, first and third-party data to target audiences effectively and shape strategic recommendations to minimize duplicated reach across linear and streaming platforms
  • Analyze response data, audience insights, and attribution outputs to optimize active campaigns and inform future recommendations

Client Relationship & Thought Leadership

  • Build strong client relationships by demonstrating curiosity, business understanding, and a clear point of view on strategic media investment
  • Present integrated media plans, campaign results, insights, and actionable recommendations to client stakeholders
  • Develop and pitch innovative media ideas that expand client relationships and media footprints
  • Communicate clearly and persuasively through objectives, strategies, points of view, and data-driven storytelling
  • Coach, mentor, and support the development of planning team members and cross-department partners

Media, Technology & Innovation

  • Learn, utilize, and actively contribute to the development of proprietary agency tools, technology platforms, and attribution models to maximize campaign performance
  • Deep understanding of Demand Side Platforms (DSPs), automated content recognition (ACR) data, and data clean rooms
  • Strong familiarity with upfront and scatter market dynamics both on the linear and CTV side and with programmatic guaranteed (PG) and private marketplace (PMP) deals

Business Development

  • Prepare and deliver compelling media strategy pitches for new business
  • Quickly ramp up on new business categories and competitive landscapes
  • Leverage data-driven storytelling to communicate a clear and strategic narrative

What do we look for in a Director, Integrated Planning?

  • 10+ years of agency media planning experience with national accounts, with expertise in linear TV, CTV, and performance-driven media
  • Expertise in Converged TV planning; cross-channel planning is a plus
  • Familiarity with the accelerated growth goals of entrepreneurial agencies and clients
  • Has experience building teams and departments and embraces new challenges
  • Highly analytical and data-driven, with strong attention to detail
  • Mastery of planning, measurement, and reporting tools such as Nielsen, Comscore, R/F planning platforms, Commspoint, iSpot, Innovid, competitive tracking tools, MRI, or similar platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using data, attribution models, and proprietary or third-party tools to improve campaign performance
  • Experience preparing and pitching media strategies for new business and existing client growth
  • Stays on top of current trends, and willing to take calculated risks
  • Strong leader, coach, and mentor who invests in developing talent
