Job Description

The Opportunity: 

Mattel is seeking a Director, Corporate Finance, Global Technology Organization to provide oversight, thought-leadership, implementation, support and organization leadership and optimization of the technology landscape and systems supporting Finance business areas (including ERP and EPM) within the Global Technology Organization. Based in El Segundo, CA and reporting to the VP of Corporate and Commercial Applications, IT, this role plays a pivotal part in achieving the strategic objectives of the Finance Department.

The Director will partner closely with departments across Finance, to ensure chosen platforms, such as Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials platform, deliver secure, accurate, compliant and efficient operations. This platform has recently gone live and management of its stabilization and backlog will be key to its critical ongoing success. The Director will lead the Finance IT Team, oversee system project implementations and enhancements, system configuration, integrations, managing vendor relationships, compliance and driving continuous improvement, and initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence, while keeping team motivated and engaged.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

Operational Leadership

  • Work with Finance and execute the technology and AI roadmap to support the Oracle Fusion Cloud platform.
  • Partner with Finance Leadership to ensure accurate Financial operations through the use of the Oracle Fusion Cloud platform
  • Lead system releases, upgrades, testing and change management activities.
  • Oversee integrations and integration challenges between legacy systems and 3rd party vendors
  • Lead administration, configuration, enhancement, and support of  the Oracle Fusion Cloud Financial platform
  • Lead interaction of other large-scale Enterprise projects with the Financials platform
  • Ensure SOX, audit, data privacy and security compliance.
  • Ensure governance processes for configuration management, production support, issue resolution, and system documentation are adhered to
  • Analyze financials, identify trends, and assess budget compliance for the team.
  • Manage relationships with implementation partners, and third-party vendors.
  • Lead Corporate Finance project portfolio, including new applications, functionality, system integrations, and transformation initiatives.
  • Develop departmental budgets, resource plans, service level agreements, and performance metrics.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive system innovation, AI, establishing scalable, best-in-class system design and implementations ad enhancements to support evolving business needs

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor and develop a team of 16+ Finance IT professionals based both in the US, as well as an expanding team in Hyderabad, India.
  • Lead performance management, training, AI and professional development initiatives
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing IT managers, analysts, and technical professionals.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Business Administration, Human Resources Information Systems, or a related field
  • Master’s Degree preferred; MBA strongly desired
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience supporting enterprise, large-scale Finance systems.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience managing in-house technical teams and enterprise applications.
  • Functional and technical expertise with Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials, both ERP Financials and EPM
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and business acumen
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated executive presence with C-suite
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials configuration, reporting, workflows, security, integrations, APIs and data management for both ERP and EPM.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise software implementations and digital transformation initiatives, as well as support organizations.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder management, and executive presence and communication skills.
