About the Role
Poshmark is seeking a Director, PR & Communications to lead and evolve how our story is told—externally and internally—as we continue to strengthen our position as the leading fashion resale marketplace and a key player in the future of retail. This role is responsible for defining and executing a communications strategy that supports business priorities, reinforces brand trust, and engages our global community.

 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Brand Creative, this role serves as a strategic advisor to the executive team, shaping Poshmark’s narrative across corporate, consumer, and internal communications. The role blends strategic vision with hands-on leadership and is key to protecting and elevating Poshmark’s reputation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a communications strategy spanning corporate, consumer, executive, and internal communications

  • Advise the executive team on high-impact, sensitive communications

  • Manage and develop 1 direct report and external agency partnership

  • Create KPIs and measurement frameworks to assess communications impact

  • Own Poshmark’s external narrative and ensure compelling storytelling

  • Lead media relations and build relationships with key media

  • Develop and execute executive thought leadership programs

  • Lead crisis communications and partner with Legal and leadership

  • Oversee PR agencies and vendors

  • Design and execute an internal communications strategy

  • Partner with CEO and leadership on internal messaging and change communications

  • Ensure internal communications reinforce culture, values, and priorities

 

6-Month Accomplishments

  • Assess and refine communications strategies and messaging

  • Develop a strategy for engaging agency partners

  • Build relationships with executive leadership and partners

  • Define a clear communications roadmap with success metrics

  • Strengthen media relationships and identify storytelling opportunities

  • Implement a regular internal communications cadence

 

12-Month Accomplishments

  • Show measurable improvements in brand visibility and media quality

  • Position Poshmark executives as thought leaders

  • Lead communications through a high-impact moment (e.g., product launch or crisis)

  • Deliver a mature internal communications framework

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, PR, English, or related field

  • 12–15 years of experience in communications or PR, preferably in consumer-facing, retail, fashion, or tech companies

  • Expertise in both external and internal communications, including executive and crisis communications

  • Experience leading and developing teams

  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leadership

  • Preferred: mix of in-house and agency experience
