Primary Responsibilities 

  • Provide coverage of existing and prospective managers in designated sub-asset class:
    • Buyouts
    • Credits
    • Growth Equity
  • Manager Research (65%):
    • Identify promising manager targets coming to market over the next 2-3 years
    • Proactively reach out to manager targets, market Cerity Partners and its clients as potential LPs
    • Solicit information, as required, to diligence and form views on strengths & weaknesses of fund investment opportunities
    • Conduct Preliminary investment due diligence, summarize findings, and communicate views to team and clients
    • Conduct In-Depth investment due diligence, write reports summarizing key strengths and weaknesses of fund investment opportunities, and recommend high conviction managers with promise to generate attractive and top-quartile returns for investors
    • Stay current on sub-asset class dynamics, both top-down and bottom-up based on manager insights
    • Maintain relationship with managers and monitor existing fund recommendations, including assessment / views on fund amendments and re-ups to new funds
    • Provide support in delivering fund recommendations to clients, as necessary
  • Topical Research (5%):
    • Co-Lead Private Credit primer / approach and other Topics of Interest, as necessary
    • Support PE Outlook
  • Client Interface (15%):
    • Present findings and recommendations to clients (staff and committees), at discretion of Consultants
    • Research, form view, and respond to client’s ad-hoc projects 
  • Marketing (15%):
    • Support RFP/business development activity, as necessary
    • Attend prospective client pitches, as necessary
    • Partner with General Consultants on delivery of Private Markets recommendations and marketing

Required Qualifications: 

  • Five or more years of experience in finance, investments or relevant investment experience with private market exposure gained at an Investment Bank, Private Equity Firm, Fund of Funds, Limited Partner or Private Equity Consulting Firm
  • CFA charter or progress toward it is required
  • A particular focus on creating and improving processes as it relates to investment management or similar services
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or other closely-related field
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and familiarity with databases (i.e. Private-IQ)

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in finance or MBA preferred and CAIA are desirable

  • Builds Networks: Develops and maintains strong formal and informal relationships across functions and locations to exchange ideas, resources, and expertise.

Compensation Range:

$175,000 - $250,000
