About the RoleWe are seeking a strategic, high-impact communications leader who thrives at the intersection of business transformation, executive communications, and storytelling. The Director, Product Development & Global Supply Chain Communications, is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that support Gap Inc.'s product development and supply chain operations. This role ensures clear, consistent messaging across all levels of the organization and with external partners to enhance understanding and engagement with product development and supply chain initiatives.What You'll Do
  • Design and implement a strategic communications plan aligned with Gap Inc.’s product development and supply chain and business objectives.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify key messages and communication priorities.

  • Lead communications support for high impact product development and supply chain transformation programs, shaping messages that drive alignment, adoption, and understanding across internal and external audiences.

  • Lead internal and external communications programming and events, including the strategic planning and seamless execution of Town Halls, innovation summits, and external supplier summits— driving content development, aligning stakeholders, preparing senior leaders, and ensuring a consistent, high impact employee experience.

  • Collaborate with leaders in product, sourcing, merchandising, operations, technology, and change management to ensure alignment and consistency. 

  • Develop and manage content for internal newsletters, intranet sites, emails, presentations, and other communication channels.

  • Oversee external communications related to the supply chain, including press releases, media relations, social media content, and stakeholder communications.

  • In close partnership with media relations, lead crisis communication efforts related to supply chain disruptions or issues; develop contingency plans and ensure timely dissemination of information during crises.

  • Produce high quality written materials including speeches for executives and talking points for media interviews.

  • Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and provide regular reports on communication activities’ impact on business goals.

Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in corporate communications, preferably within retail or supply chain sectors.

  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful strategic communications plans.

  • Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills.

  • Experience managing crisis communications and sensitive issues.

  • Ability to build relationships with senior leaders, media, and external partners.

  • Experience with digital and social media communications.

  • Experience working with global teams and understanding of cultural communication requirements.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.

  • Comfortable working in a high velocity, global, matrixed environment, with the agility to navigate shifting priorities, operational complexity, and time sensitive initiatives.

  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic communications initiatives.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed organization across global locations
