Role Description
We are seeking a Director of Product to lead and scale the strategic growth initiatives of our organization. This is an opportunity to drive meaningful impact with a scale-up stage product, helping us grow from "1 to N" with a product-led growth (PLG) strategy. This role will focus on optimizing customer acquisition, activation, and retention, ensuring our products deliver exceptional value to a growing user base.
As the leader of the growth product team, you'll help turn Dash into a PLG powerhouse by building and optimizing best-in-class user acquisition and activation experiences and flows, introduce innovative systems to ignite viral expansion, and increase activation and engagement, while expanding the market opportunity via self-service capabilities and international expansion. You'll also partner closely with Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, and Go-to-Market teams to craft compelling solutions that resonate across many audiences.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Lead high-impact projects such as new user acquisition via viral product-led sharing and driving successful trials of new users (e.g., onboarding and activation) to paid subscribers
- Develop strategies to turn licenses into active, engaged users through thoughtful activation solutions including new user experience design and re-engagement strategy
- You’ll also lead the design and strategy for our notificatoin and self-service systems to support our goals
- You will lead and build a team of best-in-class PM leaders who obsess over customers and move fast in a highly ambiguous environment
- You will lead the team in balancing urgency vs. the incredibly high quality bar expected by both our customers and the broader Dropbox organization, through clear and repeatable processes
- You will partner closely with leadership across all functions - Engineering, Design, Data, Research, GTM, Customer success and Sales
- You'll foster a healthy and collaborative culture that embodies Dropbox's values and continue to develop Dropbox as one of the best places to work
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of product experience in a medium/larger software company and/or early stage startup experience leading a high growth area
- Deep experience with growth frameworks and methodologies, such as PLG, user-get-user virality, funnel optimization, and have demonstrated a metrics-driven approach to problem-solving.
- You love building products that make our customers feel joy, delight and trust - you care deeply about the product craft and practice
- You have demonstrated technical proficiency and effectiveness working closely with engineers at scale in a growth-oriented capacity, including expertise in experimentation, hypothesis testing and customer-led product iteration and improvement
- Deep organization capabilities, especially in regards to influence, collaboration and communication
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Exceptional problem solving and execution capacity. Demonstrated success in solving difficult challenges to unlock growth.
- Ownership and hustle: Demonstrates hustle by successfully scaling on high growth product or starting a product from scratch.
- Strong product sense: Possesses ability to guide product teams in a highly ambiguous environment
- Experience in building product solutions with ML/AI preferred
