Swiftly is a retail digital technology company headquartered in the Bay Area that empowers regional and independent grocers to compete in a digital-first world. Swiftly provides best-in-class app, web, loyalty, and e-commerce solutions to retailer partners without SaaS fees, instead driving revenue through its retail media network and sharing profits with retailers.

With 70+ retailer banners and Series C funding, Swiftly is the first in the industry to seamlessly connect digital and in-store shopping. AI is at the core of how we build, operate, and scale, powering everything from shopper personalization to internal engineering velocity. Our solutions, including Audience Optimizer™, Alcohol Cashback, and Offsite Campaigns, drive shopper engagement and brand success.

Position Summary:
Swiftly is seeking a Director of Product Management, AI to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our Operations AI Stack, a growing portfolio of AI products that solve operational pain across the grocery value chain. Experience with brick-and-mortar retailers, CPG brands, and distributors like UNFI and KeHE is ideal. This role will own the full portfolio of operational tools and lead the team on deciding what to build next.

This is a startup inside a startup. This role will set the AI strategy, drive AI product development with engineering, and lead customer conversations with retailers, distributors, and CPG brands. They will carry the early commercial motion personally and build the playbook that lets it scale.

This role sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Revenue, and Customer Success, and works directly with the C-suite, internally and at our customers. This is a customer-facing role. The ideal candidate combines strong product leadership, real comfort in front of executive buyers, and the ability to translate messy, real-world grocery operations into reliable AI products that customers trust.

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of working in office at least 3 days a week.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Define and execute the multi-year roadmap and portfolio strategy for the Operations AI Stack
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for AI tools, from concept to live customer use
  • Decide what to build, what to cut, and what to sequence, with a clear point of view on where AI creates durable advantage versus where it is table stakes
  • Lead discovery, demos, and strategic conversations with retailers, distributors, and CPG brands at the C-suite and operational level
  • Use customer pain to surface the next product; our wedge products open the door, and discovery tells us what to build next
  • Partner with Engineering to drive AI products that meet a high bar on accuracy, reliability, and trust, where a number that does not reconcile is a lost deal
  • Help drive go-to-market, including pricing, positioning, and the early sales motion
  • Carry deals personally in a founder-led and product-led motion seeded by warm intros and referrals, then build the repeatable playbook
  • Build the cross-sell and expansion logic that connects tools into one portfolio rather than a list of features
  • Translate ambiguous business needs into scalable, high-impact AI products
  • Mentor Product Managers as the AI portfolio grows
  • Serve as the connective tissue between Product, Engineering, Revenue, and Operations
  • Communicate vision, progress, and outcomes to executive leadership and stakeholders with clarity and credibility
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • 9–12+ years in Product Management, with significant experience building and shipping B2B SaaS products, ideally AI or data products
  • Direct experience at seed or Series A stage, operating with ambiguity, limited resources, and high ownership
  • Proven comfort owning the full arc of strategy, build, and customer-facing commercial work
  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to hold a strategic conversation with a CEO, COO, or CFO and earn trust quickly
  • Experienced in addressing executive leadership, supporting the sales cycle, and handling sensitive customer issues
  • Sharp product judgment and a bias toward shipping
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve strategic priorities
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Work from the office at least 3 days a week
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in grocery, retail, or brick-and-mortar SaaS; a major advantage for product sense
  • Familiarity with the grocery value chain: retailers, distributors, wholesalers, and CPG brands, and how money and goods move between them
  • Exposure to deductions, trade promotion, supply chain, or retail finance
  • A developer or technical background; you do not need to write production code, but you should be able to reason about how AI products actually work
  • MBA or equivalent business and technical leadership experience
  • Passion for technology, curiosity to dive deep into Swiftly’s suite of products, and commitment to learning and expanding technical knowledge

Note: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.
