Born at X, Google’s moonshot factory, Taara works with telecommunications providers, partners, and internal teams to plan, deploy, and operate optical wireless networks around the world.
As Taara scales, we are building a new category of connectivity, combining the speed of fiber with the flexibility of wireless.
We are looking for a Director of Product Management to help define this category, drive adoption, and build products that solve real customer problems while scaling revenue.
About the RoleThis role is responsible for shaping and driving a critical part of Taara’s product portfolio. You will own product direction end-to-end, from understanding customer needs to defining the roadmap and delivering capabilities that drive adoption, revenue, and long-term competitive advantage.
You will work closely with engineering, design, sales, and customers to translate complex real-world problems into scalable product solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, has strong technical depth, and is excited about building products in a frontier technology space.
What You Will OwnDefine and drive the product roadmap aligned with company goals, customer needs, and revenue opportunities
Own product outcomes, including adoption, customer satisfaction, and contribution to revenue growth
Translate customer needs into clear product requirements, while balancing user experience, technical feasibility, and business impact
Partner with engineering to deliver high-quality products on time
Work directly with customers to understand real-world use cases and validate product direction
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer success to enable successful product launches and adoption
Drive prioritization decisions across features, bugs, and technical investments
Mentor and coach PMs on the team
Build products that unlock new revenue streams and expand Taara’s market
Improve user experience and reduce friction across deployment and operations
Establish clear product direction in a fast-moving and ambiguous environment
Enable Taara to compete effectively with microwave, fiber, and satellite solutions
Translate complex telecom and infrastructure challenges into scalable product solutions
10+ years of product management experience, preferably in telecom, networking, or infrastructure products
Strong understanding of networking concepts (e.g., FCAPS, fiber, microwave, Layer 2 switching, on-prem deployments)
Experience owning product roadmaps and driving cross-functional execution
Ability to translate customer needs into clear product direction and prioritized backlogs
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders
BSEE. Preferably an MBA
Ability to work in the Sunnyvale office at least 3 days per week.
Experience building products for telecom operators or large infrastructure customers
Familiarity with optical systems or wireless backhaul technologies
Experience working in startup or high-growth environments
Exposure to AI-driven systems or data/analytics products
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $200,000-$250,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
