About the Team

Taara extends and amplifies global communications infrastructure using beams of light to deliver high-speed connectivity. Born at X, Google’s moonshot factory, Taara works with telecommunications providers, partners, and internal teams to plan, deploy, and operate optical wireless networks around the world.

As Taara scales, we are building a new category of connectivity, combining the speed of fiber with the flexibility of wireless.

We are looking for a Director of Product Management to help define this category, drive adoption, and build products that solve real customer problems while scaling revenue.

About the Role

This role is responsible for shaping and driving a critical part of Taara’s product portfolio. You will own product direction end-to-end, from understanding customer needs to defining the roadmap and delivering capabilities that drive adoption, revenue, and long-term competitive advantage.

You will work closely with engineering, design, sales, and customers to translate complex real-world problems into scalable product solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, has strong technical depth, and is excited about building products in a frontier technology space.

What You Will Own
  • Define and drive the product roadmap aligned with company goals, customer needs, and revenue opportunities

  • Own product outcomes, including adoption, customer satisfaction, and contribution to revenue growth

  • Translate customer needs into clear product requirements, while balancing user experience, technical feasibility, and business impact

  • Partner with engineering to deliver high-quality products on time

  • Work directly with customers to understand real-world use cases and validate product direction

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer success to enable successful product launches and adoption

  • Drive prioritization decisions across features, bugs, and technical investments

  • Mentor and coach PMs on the team

How You Will Make 10x Impact
  • Build products that unlock new revenue streams and expand Taara’s market

  • Improve user experience and reduce friction across deployment and operations

  • Establish clear product direction in a fast-moving and ambiguous environment

  • Enable Taara to compete effectively with microwave, fiber, and satellite solutions

  • Translate complex telecom and infrastructure challenges into scalable product solutions

What You Should Have
  • 10+ years of product management experience, preferably in telecom, networking, or infrastructure products

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (e.g., FCAPS, fiber, microwave, Layer 2 switching, on-prem deployments)

  • Experience owning product roadmaps and driving cross-functional execution

  • Ability to translate customer needs into clear product direction and prioritized backlogs

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders

  • BSEE. Preferably an MBA

  • Ability to work in the Sunnyvale office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to Have
  • Experience building products for telecom operators or large infrastructure customers

  • Familiarity with optical systems or wireless backhaul technologies

  • Experience working in startup or high-growth environments

  • Exposure to AI-driven systems or data/analytics products
