Job Description

As the Director – Product Management - Content Review & Approvals AI, at Gilead you will act as the Product Manager for Content Approval AI solutions and reporting to the Senor Director, Head of Content tech product management & AI this role will lead the ideation, definition, execution and scaling of AI-powered marketing capabilities specifically (but not limited to) Medical Legal Review Assisted AI content reviews, AI content risk scoring and/or automated approvals

This is a delivery-focused leadership role, responsible for both driving strategies but also piloting and scaling new content approval AI capabilities that will materially improve how marketing, medical and regulatory teams work to approve promotional content across Gilead

The role builds on strong existing foundations and focuses on:

  • Accelerating Content review and approval processes, including MLR (Medical legal Review) through AI

  • Driving adoption and scaling across affiliates and global functions in partnership with Global Commercial Excellence, Regulatory, IT and medical teams

The Director will work in close partnership with IT, Legal/Compliance, Global Commercial Excellence, and affiliate marketing teams to ensure AI for MLR use cases are fully operationalized and delivering measurable business value

Key Responsibilities:

Transform Content review and approval processes using AI

  • Own the design and delivery of AI-enabled MLR optimization partnering with both commercial excellence and regulatory teams

  • Implement capabilities such as: Automated pre-review checks, Content risk scoring and prioritization, AI-assisted review and annotation

  • Redesign MLR processes to simplify, streamline and reduce rework

  • Deliver measurable improvements in cycle time, approval rates, and reviewer efficiency

  • Define a roadmap, drive endorsement with key stakeholders and work to automate key approval processes to streamline content approvals

Drive AI use cases and delivery in partnership with IT

  • Partner with IT to translate business priorities into scalable AI solutions and platforms

  • Define clear quarterly deliverables and milestones, ensuring consistent execution

  • Aligning on data, security, and compliance requirements in regulated environments

  • Act as the single accountable business owner for AI powered content approval use cases

Drive adoption and scaling with Commercial Excellence

  • Partner with Commercial Excellence teams to operationalize AI content approval capabilities that meet defined business needs across regions and affiliates

  • Develop and deploy: Adoption strategies and rollout plans, Training, playbooks, and enablement materials, Usage governance and best practices

  • Establish structured feedback loops to continuously improve tools and workflows

  • Ensure solutions are designed for real-world affiliate execution and local market needs

Define, track, and deliver KPIs

  • Own definition and tracking of clear, outcome-based KPIs, including:

  • MLR optimization KPIs

  • Reduction in MLR turnaround time

  • Increase in first-time approval rates

  • Reduction in number of review cycles per asset

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years’ Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Ten Years’ Experience

OR

PhD and Eight Years’ Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 12 years’ experience in Marketing, commercial strategy, and /or technology-enabled transformation; or 10 years with a master’s degree (10 years with a Doctoral Degree).

  • Strategic leader with proven ability to harness AI and emerging technologies to unlock new levels of customer engagement and Marketing efficiencies.

  • Previous experience in pharma/biotech marketing, particularly content workflows and MLR.

  • Advanced influencing, networking, and stakeholder management skills in a global, cross-functional environment.

  • Expertise in business product management, agile methodology, and design thinking.

  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and build compelling business cases.

  • Clear communication and presentation skills, with proven ability to drive business adoption and value realization.

  • Availability to travel internationally as required.

The salary range for this position is: $226,185.00 - $292,710.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
