The Role 

We are hiring a Director of Product Marketing, Portfolio to lead and scale our product marketing function across Cato’s portfolio. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for portfolio strategy, positioning and messaging, product launches, and people leadership.

You will shape how Cato’s products and capabilities are brought to market, ensuring clear differentiation, compelling customer value, and strong alignment across the business. You will partner closely with Product, Sales, Engineering, and Executive Leadership while building and leading a world-class team of product marketing experts.

Responsibilities 

Own Product Marketing Strategy

  • Define and execute the product marketing strategy in alignment with company priorities.
  • Serve as the senior product marketing voice across leadership, Product, Sales, and go-to-market teams.
  • Drive positioning, messaging, launches, sales support, competitive differentiation, and market expertise across Cato’s portfolio.

Lead a High-Performance PMM Team

  • Hire, mentor, and develop Product Marketing Managers.
  • Set priorities, standards, and operating frameworks for messaging, launches, content, and enablement.
  • Build strong collaboration across Product, Sales, Partners, Events, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure clear, differentiated messaging that communicates Cato’s business and technical value.

Shape Thought Leadership

  • Guide the development of high-impact content, including blogs, white papers, webinars, and executive perspectives.
  • Translate technical innovation into customer value, business outcomes, and market leadership.
Requirements 

Experience 

  • 10+ years of Product Marketing experience, with 4+ years in a leadership or director-level role 
  • Strong background in cybersecurity (Network/SSE/Zero Trust) 
  • Proven ability to translate complex technology into compelling, high-impact narratives 
  • Comfortable create & present to executives, customers, and large audiences 
  • Ability to create clear execution plans, respond fast, and multi-task

Data-Driven and Market-Informed 

  • Use insights, analytics, and market intelligence to guide messaging, launches, and strategic decisions 

Exceptional Cross-Functional Leader 

  • Trusted partner to Product, Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Executive teams 
  • Known for building alignment, clarity, and momentum

Education 

  • Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on technical experience 

A reasonable estimate of the salary for this role, at the time of posting, is $250,000 - $290,000. Cato operates from a high place of trust and transparency; we are happy to state the pay range for our open roles to best align with your needs. Exact compensation may vary based on skill set, experience, location, training, and certifications.
