About Step

Step's mission is to improve the financial future of the next generation. Millions of people use our banking and borrowing products to manage, build, and grow their money. Now that we're part of Beast Industries – the company behind MrBeast – we're poised for a new phase of growth to deliver financial literacy and tools at massive scale.

About the Role

Step is looking for an entrepreneurial marketing leader to develop and lead our product marketing and lifecycle marketing function. This person will be instrumental in our overall growth and product strategy. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is an analytical problem-solver, and is excited about the opportunity to engage with Gen Z and the broader product ecosystem at Beast Industries.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead go-to-market strategy, planning, and launches for the entire portfolio: core banking, credit, rewards, lending, and investing
  • Own the cross-functional operations between Step and Beast Industries, developing and launching collabs, product integrations, and partnership expansion
  • Drive strategy and lead a full-funnel lifecycle marketing perspective from top-of-funnel awareness through ongoing engagement and retention
  • Deliver best-in-class loyalty and gamification programs at scale
  • Partner with the broader marketing team to execute campaigns that drive new signups, expansion, and/or product adoption
  • Advocate for our customers through research and discovery work; translate their needs to inform and influence our product roadmaps
  • Effectively partner with product, design, customer support, engineering, and other company functions while focusing on down-funnel conversion and retention
  • Oversee and lead the team’s development of annual and quarterly plans to drive growth across the customer lifecycle to generate high-impact and meaningful learnings.
  • Build, develop, and mentor a product marketing team including lifecycle marketers; lead with a passion for learning and development
You might thrive in this role if you have:
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing; 5+ of those years in product marketing, with a preference for some experience in a startup environment
  • Product marketing experience working across the funnel in B2C tech and/or a consumer app
  • Strong preference for a player-coach role, unafraid to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with campaign development
  • Experience managing a nascent product marketing/lifecycle marketing team with direct responsibility for owned communication channels
  • Excellent written communication skills, with an ability to craft a clear and compelling narrative for unique audiences
  • Analytical and experimental mindset, can use and leverage data and insights to brainstorm ideas, make decisions, and drive growth

How we're different

We stand for the side hustlers, the creators, the freelancers, and the investors — people who are not afraid to take on challenges, especially when it comes to their finances. Step is focused on disrupting the banking industry by delivering a differentiated, mobile-first consumer experience, and we operate like the customers we serve: customer obsessed, acting as owners, moving with urgency, and breaking the norm.

Step is a wholly owned subsidiary of Beast Industries, the media and entertainment company founded by Jimmy Donaldson (MrBeast), the most-watched person in the world. Beast Industries spans digital media, consumer products, philanthropy, and new ventures, with an audience reach no consumer company has ever had — and Step is tasked with turning that reach into financial literacy and tools for the next generation at massive scale. With Beast's distribution and brand behind it, Step is positioned to scale significantly over the next 12 months, and joining now means helping shape that trajectory from the inside.

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
