About vFunction

vFunction is an AI-augmented application modernization platform that helps enterprises accelerate the transformation of legacy monolithic applications into cloud-native, microservices-based architectures. Trusted by engineering and platform teams at global enterprises, vFunction dramatically reduces the time, cost, and risk of architectural modernization — enabling organizations to unlock the full value of their cloud investments.

vFunction partners deeply with hyperscalers including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud to reach enterprises undergoing cloud migration and modernization initiatives. Our platform is purpose-built for the complexity of real-world enterprise codebases.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and execution-oriented Director of Marketing to lead vFunction's go-to-market and pipeline generation engine. This is a pivotal role that will define how the market understands and values AI-driven application modernization — and position vFunction as the category leader in the emerging AI-augmented code modernization tools market.

The ideal candidate brings deep B2B enterprise software marketing experience, a strong product marketing foundation, and the ability to build and scale integrated programs that drive awareness, preference, and revenue across two key channels: hyperscaler partner ecosystems and direct enterprise sales.

What You'll Do

Product Marketing (70%)

  • Drive vFunction's messaging, positioning, and value proposition for enterprise buyers and architectural decision-makers (CTOs, Enterprise Architects, VP Engineering).
  • Develop compelling narratives around AI-augmented modernization, differentiating vFunction from manual modernization approaches, competitive tools, and services-led alternatives.
  • Lead the creation of core sales and partner enablement materials: pitch decks, one-pagers, battle cards, solution briefs, ROI frameworks, and technical white papers.
  • Drive product launch strategy and execution in partnership with R&D — translating new capabilities into market-relevant stories.
  • Build vertical and use-case specific messaging and case studies for industries with high modernization urgency (financial services, insurance, healthcare, retail, government).
  • Develop hyperscaler-specific marketing assets and co-sell narratives tailored to AWS, Azure, and GCP partner programs and marketplace audiences.
  • Conduct ongoing win/loss analysis, competitive intelligence, and buyer research to inform positioning and product strategy.
  • Collaborate with analyst relations to build vFunction's presence in key research categories (Gartner, Forrester, IDC).

Demand Generation (30%)

  • Design and execute integrated campaigns targeting enterprise accounts in cloud migration and modernization phases — spanning digital, content, events, and partner channels.
  • Build and manage co-marketing programs with hyperscaler partners (AWS Marketplace, Azure Partner Network, GCP Partner Advantage) to generate pipeline through partner-sourced leads.
  • Oversee content marketing strategy including thought leadership, LLM-search driven content, Linkedin campaigns, webinars, and executive communications that build credibility with technical and business buyers.
  • Work closely with Sales and Channel teams to align on ICP targeting, campaign messaging, and lead qualification criteria.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of B2B enterprise software marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a senior product marketing or integrated marketing leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience marketing developer tools, cloud-native platforms, engineering solutions, or application modernization technologies.
  • Proven ability to craft clear, differentiated positioning for complex, technical products sold to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Hands-on experience building and executing co-marketing programs with hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or major SaaS ecosystem partners.
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator with a track record of partnering tightly with Product, Sales, and Customer Success.
  • Data-driven marketer comfortable owning pipeline metrics, campaign performance analysis, and board-level marketing reporting.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — you can write a compelling customer story and a tight executive brief with equal ease.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience at an enterprise software startup (Series A–C) scaling marketing from early-stage to growth.
  • Background in application architecture, software engineering, or cloud infrastructure — or experience marketing to these audiences at depth.
  • Familiarity with the microservices, containerization, or cloud-native ecosystem.

Why vFunction
