We are AI Native

We are building an AI-native company where AI is integral to how we build and operate. AI tool usage during interviews varies by role. You may be asked to demonstrate proficiency with AI tools, discuss how you leverage AI, or complete interview exercises without AI assistance. Your Recruiter will provide clear guidance as you move through the interview process.

Undisclosed use of AI not previously discussed with or approved by your Recruiter may impact your candidacy.

About The Team

The Growth organization drives Life360's subscription business, the engine that turns free usage into a paid membership and keeps that membership worth paying for, year after year. We set and evolve pricing and packaging for every Life360 membership, build features to increase the value of our subscriptions for users, manage the experimentation platform and the ML systems that personalize monetization, and own the partnerships that extend membership value. We are data-driven and focused on creating value for our subscribers by understanding their needs and wants. We are also an AI-native team: AI tooling is embedded directly into how we research, model, spec, and ship, and we expect everyone on the team to work that way.

About the Job

As Director of Product, Subscriber Value, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategy to deliver value to our subscribers, while growing Life360’s subscriber base and subscription business.

You will develop new freemium features and improve existing ones, own the architecture and pricing of what members get for what they pay (tiers, entitlements, bundles, add-ons), and lead the portfolio of partner-powered value that complements the features we build ourselves. You will be accountable for the growth of our subscriptions and the satisfaction of members who choose to pay for one.

This is a director-level individual contributor role. You will set a strategy for one of Life360's highest-leverage surfaces, drive outcomes by working across engineering, design, analytics, ML, finance, and business development teams, and be the point person for advocating for subscriber value with the executive team and at every level of the company.

Life360 operates as an AI-native organization, and this role is expected to be a visible example of it. You will use AI throughout your workflow and help define what AI-native product management looks like on the monetization side of the business.

For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this position is $201k to $294k USD. For candidates based out of Canada, the salary range for this position is $245k to $287k CAD. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

What You'll Do
  • Own the subscriber value strategy: define the membership portfolio architecture, including what belongs in each tier, what gets bundled, what gets unbundled, and what gets built versus partnered.
  • Drive the Subscriber Value roadmap and the development of freemium features that drive measurable value for our members.
  • Grow revenue per membership and set the framework that decides when to monetize incrementally versus deepening tier value.
  • Own premium services provided through 3rd parties, identify new opportunities and potential partners, hold partners to explicit launch and performance bars, and grow partner offerings over time to drive value for members and for the business.
  • Own pricing and packaging, including price architecture, promotional and discount strategy, and the execution of price changes across App Store, Google Play, and web billing, including building the business case and carrying it through executive approval.
  • Drive a culture of experimentation, from painted-door validation through fully-powered testing, leveraging AI and data science to provide value faster to our members.
  • Operate as an AI-native product leader: use AI to compress the path from question to decision to shipped experiment, build the reusable AI artifacts the rest of the team runs on, and help define the playbook for AI-native product management at Life360.
What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years in consumer products, including 5+ years owning subscription monetization at scale, ideally in a business with millions of paying subscribers where you were accountable for revenue outcomes, not just feature delivery.
  • Demonstrable success in developing strategies that led to the growth of a subscription business, and in ideating and shipping features that drove measurable value for subscribers and increased their satisfaction.
  • Direct, hands-on ownership of pricing and packaging. You have shipped a price increase or a repackaging, and you can describe in detail what broke, what you did not anticipate, and what you would do differently.
  • A track record of product work enabled by commercial partnerships: you have scoped and launched revenue-share or embedded-partner integrations that increased the value of the product.
  • Deep fluency in mobile subscription mechanics, including App Store and Google Play architecture; proration and mid-cycle upgrade behavior; refund and cancellation differences across platforms; web billing; and the global regulatory landscape for subscription cancellation and disclosure.
  • Genuine unit economics fluency across lifetime value, gross margin, CAC, cohort retention curves, and contribution per member. You can build the model, stress-test someone else's, and identify opportunities for the business.
  • Strategic ownership at the Director level: you have set multi-quarter direction across a portfolio of surfaces rather than a single feature, made explicit prioritization calls under constrained capacity, and said no to good ideas with a defensible reason.
  • AI-native operator. This is a requirement, not a preference. Research synthesis, competitive teardowns, financial modeling, spec drafting, and reporting run with AI in the loop; you prototype with AI to validate ideas before spending engineering time; you are hands-on with current tooling; and you have used AI to deliver value in your products.
  • Deep empathy for families and comfort with the central tension of this role: Life360 is entrusted with families' safety, and every monetization decision either earns or erodes that trust.
AI-Native Expectations
  • Daily use: You embed AI in all your workflows and use it for real, substantive tasks, including research, analysis, drafting, prototyping, analytics and experimentation.
  • Review and accountability for AI output: AI-generated outputs get the same level of care of as any of your deliverables. You are accountable for everything you ship.
  • Velocity: We expect senior practitioners who use AI well to operate with meaningful leverage: doing more with the same time, taking on problems that would otherwise require a larger team.
  • Team leadership: You share what works. You automate prompting strategies that others can build on and help teammates earlier in their AI workflow adoption get up to speed.
  • Continuous learning: The tooling is changing fast. You stay current and bring recommendations to the team when something would meaningfully improve how we work.
Our Benefits
  • Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans (100% paid for US employees). We offer life and disability as well as supplemental plans for medical and dental for Canadian employees.
  • 401(k) plan with company matching program in the US and RRSP with DPSP plan for Canadian employees.
  • Paid parental leave
  • Mental Wellness Program & Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental well-being
  • Generous time off: flexible PTO, companywide holidays throughout the year plus summer and winter shutdowns
  • Learning & Development programs
  • Equipment, tools, and reimbursement support for a productive remote environment.
  • Free Life360 Platinum Membership Tile trackers

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
