Role

The Director of Product exists to decide what we build next and ensure it drives real results for our customers.

Acquisition.com has strong distribution and access to customers. The challenge is not demand. The challenge is making better product decisions. This role turns customer behavior, support signals, and usage data into clear product direction across multiple product areas.

This is a hands-on, founding product role. You are not managing a mature PM team or maintaining roadmaps as artifacts. You are making decisions. You define what products should exist, how they evolve, and where we place bets. You use AI as a core tool to prototype, test, and accelerate iteration.

You report to the CTO and partner closely with Operating Company Presidents. They bring deep knowledge of their customers. You translate that into product direction that improves retention, engagement, and outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Define product direction across the portfolio by turning customer support patterns, usage data, and business context into clear product bets

  • Analyze how customers actually use the product and advocate for the end user in product decisions

  • Identify whether product efforts should be unified, separated, or repositioned based on real usage and market signals

  • Partner with Operating Company Presidents to translate customer insight into product priorities that drive retention and engagement

  • Use AI tools to rapidly prototype, test, and refine product ideas before committing engineering resources

  • Stay close to execution by shaping requirements, making trade-offs with engineering, and ensuring decisions result in shipped product

Requirements
  • Proven ability to turn ambiguous inputs into product decisions that lead to shipped products and measurable business outcomes

  • Experience building or scaling products in 0 to 1 or early-stage environments, including operating without defined structure

  • Built or stood up a product function where one did not previously exist, not inherited a team or maintained an existing roadmap

  • Managed a multi-product portfolio simultaneously, making prioritization decisions across competing products

  • Partnered directly with business operators or revenue owners to translate customer insight into product direction

  • Made build vs. buy decisions with real budget consequences and can clearly explain the reasoning behind at least one

Results
  • Clear product direction is established across the portfolio, with aligned understanding across leadership

  • Measurable improvement in retention or engagement driven by product decisions

  • Product decisions reflect real customer behavior, not assumptions or internal bias

  • AI is actively used to accelerate prototyping, testing, and iteration speed

  • At least one major product decision materially improves how customers experience or use the product

  • Leadership can clearly articulate what is being built and why, based on your direction

Schedule
  • Standard business hours with flexibility based on collaboration with engineering and leadership

Location
  • Full-time, remote (US-based)

  • Quarterly on-sites in Las Vegas

Compensation:
  • $170,000 - $200,000 base salary

  • The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below).

Benefits:

We offer a comprehensive, evolving benefits package designed to support your health, family, and wellbeing. Some key offerings:

  • Flexible Unlimited Paid Time Off and Company-wide Holidays

  • Employer sponsored Medical, Dental, & Vision plans

    • $1,950 annual Employer HSA contribution

    • FSA options including dependent care

    • Employee assistance program and mental health resources

  • Employer match program for 401(k), eligible for both Traditional and Roth accounts

  • $1,200 annual wellness reimbursement through JOON that supports health, family care, pet care, fitness, and more!

  • For local or visiting team members, enjoy access to a state of the art gym at our HQ in Las Vegas

* Benefits eligibility applies only to full-time roles.

ACQ Core Values:

Our core values are the heart and soul of this incredible company. The right person for this role will appreciate each of these values, personally subscribe to them, and understand why each is critical to having a great business.

Competitive Greatness

Be at your best when your best is needed. Enjoyment of a hard challenge. Those who have the drive to constantly improve, the superior intellect and long term commitment to see incremental improvements become compounding returns.

Sincere Candor

Have the self awareness to accurately perceive and communicate hard truths that improve others and self, the courage to do so, and the humility to accept them, even when it hurts. Nothing great can be built without feedback: internally or externally.

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
