Based in Mountain View, CA., NeuroPace is a commercial-stage medical device company focused on transforming the lives of people suffering from epilepsy by reducing or eliminating the occurrence of debilitating seizures. Its novel and differential RNS System is the first and only commercially available, brain-responsive platform that delivers personalized, real-time treatment at the seizure source.

At NeuroPace, employees are our greatest asset. We are continually searching for solution-oriented individuals who can bring energy and creativity to our growing workforce. At NeuroPace, our success depends upon our ability to recruit and retain the most talented, enthusiastic and dedicated people we can find and providing them with a dynamic and challenging environment in which to thrive.

We are seeking a Director of Reimbursement and Market Access to join the Accounting & Finance team at NeuroPace. Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Reimbursement and Market Access drives coding, coverage, and payment strategy for NeuroPace. You'll be the company's go-to reimbursement and market access expert — advising the Executive Team, Sales, Marketing, and Clinical, engaging payers directly, and shaping how providers get paid for our products. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The "Director" leveling reflects a need for deep expertise, ability to influence at all levels inside and outside the organization, and executive presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own coding, coverage, and payment strategy for assigned products, from launch through lifecycle
  • Track and interpret CMS rules (OPPS, PFS, IPPS), LCDs, and commercial payer policy changes
  • Prepare coding/payment submissions to CMS, AMA CPT panel, and other bodies
  • Be the internal expert for reimbursement questions from Sales, Marketing, and customers
  • Build payer, medical society, and where applicable governmental relationships to advocate for favorable coverage
  • Partner with the Finance team, Clinical, Legal, and Med Affairs to close evidence gaps for coverage decisions
  • Spot reimbursement trends and competitive shifts; brief Senior Leadership team on impact
  • Support field teams on denials/appeals guidance and training materials
  • Represent the company at coding committee meetings, government hearings, conferences, and payer engagements in the best way possible to drive increased market access for patients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA/MPH/MHA a plus
  • 10+ years in reimbursement, market access, or health policy with the majority spent in the medical device space
  • Fluent in CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 coding and CMS payment methodologies
  • Proven success in coverage expansion working directly with private and public payers on coverage for new product launches, label expansions, or newly approved clinical indications.

$172-$228K Base - Compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to skill set, years of experience, and geographic location.
