Director of Retail, Specs

We’re looking for a Director of Retail for Specs to join the team! As the Director of Retail, Specs, you’ll build and scale a global retail strategy that blends high-end physical spaces, community-driven experiences, and digital touchpoints. You’ll shape how people learn about, demo and experience Specs. This role requires a hybrid of tech, luxury retail and digital-commerce leadership - someone who can craft a world-class brand experience while building a data-driven retail ecosystem from the ground up.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with Product and Marketing to develop the omnichannel retail model, defining the role of stores, pop-ups, e-commerce, creators and community hubs

  • Set the long-term expansion roadmap: market prioritization, store formats, rollout pacing and flagship strategy

  • Own and build dashboards to track retail KPIs including traffic, conversion, customer satisfaction, revenue, retention and demo engagement

  • Create an iconic in-store experience where hands-on demos, education and creative exploration are core, partnering with creative store designers on architecture, layout, lighting, visual merchandising and sensory experience

  • Develop programming for launches, events, creators, cultural partnerships and community activations. Establish luxury-level service standards inspired by premium tech, hospitality and fashion

  • Build and lead a global retail organization, developing high-performing, inclusive teams; partner with agencies on the hiring strategy for best-in-class brick & mortar staff. Initiate, develop, and manage the training program to ensure consistent, high-quality in-store education and service

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Experience using insights and analytics to shape product strategy, marketing and retail design

  • Strong strategic instincts balanced with operational discipline and a love for building from scratch

  • Track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams across multiple markets

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience

  • 10+ years in retail leadership within consumer hardware and emerging technologies

  • 5+ years of experience managing a team

  • Proven experience building or scaling omnichannel retail for an innovative brand

  • Expertise in turning stores into immersive, high-touch education and storytelling environments
