JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Safety & Compliance is responsible for enterprise‑wide leadership of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), regulatory compliance, and Asset Protection. This role provides strategic direction and hands-on leadership to identify, manage, and reduce regulatory, environmental, and workplace safety risk across all club locations and corporate operations while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead the enterprise Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and regulatory compliance strategy across all club locations and corporate facilities
* Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations and serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, inspections, audits, and corrective actions
* Design, implement, and maintain scalable safety programs, policies, SOPs, and training that drive consistency and risk reduction
* Build and sustain a strong safety culture through leadership engagement, communication, accountability, and field partnership
* Analyze injury, incident, and compliance data to identify trends, prioritize risk, and drive continuous improvement
* Provide executive‑level reporting and KPIs on safety performance, regulatory compliance, and emerging risks
* Partner with Operations, HR, Facilities, Legal, and Risk Management to embed safety and compliance into daily operations and new club development
* Provide oversight of security and compliance‑related asset protection controls in support of member, employee, and facility safety
* Lead and develop safety and compliance team members; act as a visible change leader across the organization
* Provide strategic and operational oversight of Asset Protection programs across all locations
* Establish standards for theft prevention, shrink reduction, access control, and incident reporting
* Partner with Operations and Facilities to design physical security and asset protection controls
* Review and assess loss events, recommending prevention strategies and control enhancements
* Lead the enterprise Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and regulatory compliance strategy across all club locations and corporate facilities

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management, Engineering, or related field
* 7+ years of progressive experience in EH&S, safety, or risk management, preferably in a multi‑site environment
* Must have experience with CalOSHA and state safety regulations
* Experience with pool and spa safety, including HMBP/CERS requirements
* Proven ability to influence leaders, drive change, and operate effectively in a fast‑paced, distributed organization
* Ability to analyze risk utilizing the Risk Management Process and be able to develop programs to achieve desired results.
