PURPOSE:

As Director of Sales for the Convenience channel, you will lead the commercial strategy and execution for one of pladis’ most dynamic and high-potential retail segments. This role is critical to expanding our footprint in convenience stores, driving profitable growth, and building best-in-class customer partnerships.
You will be responsible for shaping the go-to-market strategy, leading customer engagement, and ensuring flawless execution across key convenience accounts. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that blends strategic thinking with hands-on leadership—ideal for a commercial leader with deep experience in convenience retail and a passion for delivering results.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:

  • Deliver top- and bottom-line AOP objectives for the Convenience channel, ensuring profitable growth and sustained performance

  • Develop and lead execution of strategic plans (short- and long-term) tailored to the Convenience retail landscape

  • Champion channel-specific initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive success across Convenience accounts

  • Partner with Account Managers to shape and execute strategic plans for top Convenience customers, driving sales and deepening relationships

  • Lead innovation efforts to expand pladis’ presence in the U.S. and South American Convenience markets

  • Contribute to the AOP process by establishing channel-specific budgets and plans, aligned with the strategic direction from the Head of Wholesale – Americas

  • Prepare and present insights and performance reports for senior leadership, highlighting Convenience channel progress and opportunities

  • Coach and mentor direct reports, fostering skill development and career growth within the Convenience sales team

  • Collaborate with Marketing leadership to align strategic priorities and ensure execution of key initiatives within the channel

  • Leverage the full suite of product solutions (Promotions, Shopper, Media, Data, etc.) to deliver consultative, customer-centric strategies

  • Partner with Finance to evaluate the financial viability of new and existing Convenience business opportunities

  • Manage the sales pipeline to ensure forecasting accuracy and achievement of quarterly targets

  • Oversee multiple projects and maintain clear communication across cross-functional teams, including while traveling to key accounts and markets

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Essential Criteria

  • Strong experience in the confectionary category preferred, with a focus on selling to large national grocery accounts. 

  • 10+ years of commercial experience in CPG, with a strong track record in Convenience channels.

  • Proven success in customer management, strategic planning, and team leadership.

  • Deep understanding of channel dynamics across C-Store.

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Emotional and professional maturity and poise (significant interaction with senior management and external customers)

  • Exposure to P&L in previous roles highly desired

  • Demonstrated team leadership experience mentoring, coaching and developing teams in a growth environment

  • Self-starter/independent worker

  • Comfortable with ambiguity

  • Ability to remain focused and flexible during rapid change.

  • Previous experience in consumer marketing, shopper marketing or trade planning preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field

  • Regular office working environment (home office possible).  

  • Approximately 50% Travel

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

Base starting salary ranges from $170k- $212k/year. The base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role includes:

  • An annual incentive opportunity, awarded based on individual and company performance.
