Position Summary

RectorSeal is currently seeking an experienced sales professional with background and a proven track record of managing sales activity. Director of Sales (Electrical Division) is a key leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitable sales of the full Electrical Division portfolio. You will lead a high-performing sales team, develop and execute strategic go-to-market plans, and build strong relationships with key distributors and contractors in the electrical, and construction markets. This is a high-visibility position with P&L accountability for the division’s sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Leadership & Strategy: Develop and implement annual and long-range sales strategies to achieve or exceed revenue, margin, and market-share targets for the Electrical Division.
  • Team Management: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of regional sales managers, territory managers, and inside sales support. Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development. Supports, coaches, and develops the sales team.
  • Market & Customer Development: Identify and penetrate new market segments (commercial, residential, industrial, and OEM). Build and maintain strategic relationships with top electrical distributors, contractors, and specifying engineers.
  • Product & Brand Promotion: Collaborate with marketing and product management to launch new products and position RectorSeal as the preferred partner in the electrical trades. Identify product needs for customers and communicate needs to product marketing.
  • Forecasting & Analytics: Own accurate sales forecasting, pipeline management, and monthly/quarterly business reviews. Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to inform strategy.
  • Channel Management: Strengthen and expand relationships with key electrical wholesalers and distributors while ensuring alignment with RectorSeal’s broader HVAC/plumbing sales channels.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with operations, supply chain, R&D, and customer service to ensure exceptional customer experience and on-time delivery.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience in the electrical or building products industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior sales leadership role (regional or national level).
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales management experience.
  • Able to travel approximately 40-50% travel required to support field teams, key accounts, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Must reside full-time in the continental US.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Track Record: Proven ability to meet or exceed aggressive sales targets and grow revenue in competitive B2B markets. Experience selling through distribution channels is essential. Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close. Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a high-performing sales team.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical products, codes (NEC), firestop requirements, and contractor/distributor dynamics.
  • Skills:

    • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.

    • Ability to communicate, present, and influence at all levels of an organization, including executives and C-suite.

    • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and financial acumen.

    • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.

    • Proficient in CRM, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office.

  • Personal Attributes: Results-driven, entrepreneurial, customer-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, and passionate about solving customer problems.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (MBA a plus)
