This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can operate at the executive level while still rolling up their sleeves in complex deals. You will lead a team of 5–6 Sales Engineers globally, set technical sales strategy, and ensure Firebolt consistently wins highly technical evaluations.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing global Sales Engineering team (currently 5–6)
  • Own the technical pre-sales lifecycle, including discovery, architecture, demos, POCs, and evaluations
  • Partner closely with Sales leadership on account strategy, deal qualification, and execution
  • Serve as an executive technical voice with customers, especially in complex or strategic deals
  • Act as a tight feedback loop between customers, Product, and Engineering to influence roadmap
  • Define best practices for technical selling, enablement, and SE hiring as the team scales
  • Support GTM expansion across regions while maintaining a high technical bar and consistent customer experience
  • 8+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Pre-Sales
  • Prior experience leading and scaling Sales Engineering teams
  • Strong background selling highly technical products (data platforms, databases, analytics, infrastructure, cloud, or adjacent technologies)
  • Comfortable engaging with senior technical buyers (VP Engineering, CTO, Head of Data, etc.)
  • Ability to translate deep technical concepts into clear business value
  • Proven track record of influencing large, complex enterprise deals
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams
  • Experience selling data infrastructure, analytics platforms, or database technologies
  • Exposure to AI, real-time analytics, or large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience supporting global or multi-region GTM teams
