As Director, SIOP (Americas) you are accountable for building and operating the Americas SIOP / Integrated Business Planning (IBP) decision cadence that aligns Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Logistics around a single set of numbers and an executable plan.

You will ensure the region consistently collaborates to translate demand signals into feasible supply and inventory plans, proactively identify constraints, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver measurable improvements in service performance, working capital, inventory turns, and planning effectiveness.

You are responsible to be the Americas “business integrator” for planning and enterprise decision-making and is intentionally separated from supply chain execution leadership to ensure SIOP discipline, governance, and transformation progress are sustained.

Key Responsibilities

Executive SIOP Governance

Own the end-to-end monthly SIOP/IBP cycle for the Americas, establishing agendas, standard work, inputs, and analytics to ensure forums collaborate effectively, generate clear risks and opportunities, quantified gaps, actionable outcomes, and documented owners.

Create and Maintain a “One-Number Plan”

Drive a single aligned regional forecast (“one number”) with agreed assumptions, collaborating with Commercial to improve accuracy, reduce bias, strengthen demand signals, and ensure Operations and Supply Chain feasibility is incorporated early.

Constrained Planning & Tradeoff Decisions

Manage structured scenario planning and decision-making under constraints—asset, raw material, logistics, or quality—and own supply allocation frameworks supporting customer segmentation, service policies, margin-based decisions, and escalation to executives.

Inventory and Working Capital Outcomes (Governance + Discipline)

Drive measurable reductions in excess, obsolete, and hidden-buffer inventory by implementing disciplined safety stock, lead time, and segmentation governance, while partnering with Finance to align planning and inventory targets with financial commitments.

Cross-Functional Accountability

Build a performance management system tracking OTIF, schedule attainment, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and freight costs, while driving root-cause resolution for recurring planning issues.

Regional Capability Building

Establish expectations and capability standards for planners, coaching and developing talent to strengthen bench depth, and define adoption requirements for standard work and governance rhythms.

Interface with Global Supply Chain Excellence / Plan-to-Deliver CoE

Serve as the Americas customer and deployment partner to the Global CoE, adopting global standards, tools, and KPIs locally, and providing structured feedback on playbook gaps, adoption barriers, training needs, and system enablement priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • 12–15+ years of progressive leadership in SIOP / IBP / planning / supply chain
  • Demonstrated experience building and/or running executive SIOP governance
  • Experience in complex manufacturing environment strongly preferred:
    • specialty chemicals
    • process manufacturing
    • multi-site and multi-business portfolios
  • Proven record delivering measurable outcomes:
    • working capital / inventory turns
    • service stabilization
    • planning discipline and governance
  • Excellent executive facilitation skills with strong collaboration, communication, interpersonal, and influencing abilities
  • Experience with planning systems and analytics preferred (SAP IBP / Kinaxis / OMP)
  • Executive presence; can challenge and align senior leaders
  • Ability to influence outcomes and take action effectively without direct authority
  • Systems thinker + pragmatic operator
  • High accountability orientation: closes gaps, doesn’t “admire problems”
  • High comfort with ambiguity; uses data to drive actions and commitments
