DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Oversee the design, architecture, and deployment of large-scale, cloud-native financial systems, ensuring high availability, resiliency, and compliance with industry standards. Lead and mentor a team of software engineers to deliver payment and clearing applications that process real-time, high-throughput transactions. Define engineering roadmaps and technical strategies to align with enterprise financial services goals and regulatory requirements. Direct the design and implementation of payments processing solutions, including payment gateways, ISO 20022 clearing integrations, and real-time transaction platforms. Architect and optimize data streaming solutions using Apache Kafka and Spark Structured Streaming for low-latency financial transaction processing. Implement enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines, resiliency frameworks, and security controls to support continuous deployment of regulated financial applications. Manage cloud-based deployments on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EMR, Step Functions, Glue) and ensure scalability across global financial markets. Oversee development of large-scale data pipelines and ETL systems to automate and enhance data processing for financial products and customer reporting. Collaborate with external financial institutions and clearing houses to establish secure integration contracts and interoperability for cross-border payments. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by adopting modern engineering practices, improving latency benchmarks, and optimizing resource utilization for financial systems. Engage with senior stakeholders to provide technical leadership, ensure regulatory alignment, and deliver system enhancements within budget and timelines. Recruit, hire, and develop technical talent, ensuring skills are aligned with enterprise payment modernization initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or as Director of Software Engineering, Software Development Manager, Technical Consultant, Software Engineer, Systems Analyst/Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as Director of Software Engineering, Software Development Manager, Technical Consultant, Software Engineer, Systems Analyst/Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires seven (7) years of experience with the following skill: leading and mentoring engineering teams to design, develop, and deploy cloud-native, data-driven applications in distributed software systems, including supervision of software engineers, software architects, or engineering managers. This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills: architecting and designing software systems to solve complex distributed systems, database scalability, and financial technology challenges; designing and developing enterprise-grade applications using Java Spring Boot or C++ for payment orchestration, transaction processing, automation, and large-scale data analysis; and building and scaling high-throughput, real-time payments processing systems such as payment gateways, clearing systems, ISO 20022-based integrations, or real-time transaction platforms. This position requires four (4) years of experience with the following skills: implementing Agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines including continuous integration, deployment automation, application resiliency, production observability, and application security compliance; automating large-scale, high-performance data transformation systems to support financial product innovation, multi-market clearing deployments, or regulatory compliance; implementing observability and self-healing frameworks including automated recovery, alerting, monitoring, and debugging tools to reduce mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to recovery (MTTR) in mission-critical systems. This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills: developing and operating data streaming and messaging frameworks using Apache Kafka, ActiveMQ, Apache Spark, or any in- house structured streaming technologies to enable near real-time reconciliation and reporting; and designing and implementing advanced database sharding and data modeling strategies. This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following skills: leading, architecting, or deploying applications on AWS cloud platform using EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EMR, or EKS.

Full-Time. Salary:  $388,918 - $388,918 per year.
